• December brings family events, anticipation for family traditions, and much more. Students may be staying up late and may not always want to be at school. So, as this month can be hard for many reasons, please try to keep routines the same and make sure students are ready to work hard and learn in school. We will have Spirit Days throughout the month, mainly for staff, but students can participate in them too. Check out the list of Spirit Days below.
• Can you believe that Wednesday will be the 70th day of school? We will have some fun and have a Spirit Day to dress as if from the 1970s. So, find those old family photos to get some ideas! I remember the 1970s because that's when I was in elementary school! (Sorry about the mistake last week!)
• We are looking forward to our Penguin Patch Holiday Shop and encourage families to allow students to earn spending money by doing chores. See below for more information.
• Please complete the Building Ranks survey before December 8th. See below for more information.
• Please see the PTA sections and sign up to help with Penguin Patch and the Staff Holiday Lunch.
• Lastly, check out the Promote Respect presentation from the counselors which was presented during our Parent Coffee Chat last week.

• Last year, parents, staff, and students (grades 3-12) took the NASSP Building Ranks Survey about our school’s culture. From November 27 through December 8, 2023, CCPS will once again be giving the Building Ranks survey to parents, staff, students (grades 3-12), and community partners. We look forward to continuing to partner with you in improving our school culture.

• Thursday, December 21: Holiday PJs Day

• Monday through Thursday all had strong attendance with less than 35 students absent each day. Friday jumped to about 50 absences. Tests are often given on Friday so it is important for students to be in school.

• Do you love cereal? Do you love dominoes? If you said YES to either of these we need your help because it’s time for the 3rd annual Reams Road Cereal Domino Course!
  

• Please donate unopened full sized boxes of cereal that we can use to set up our cereal dominoes course in our hallways. We need all cereal boxes by Thursday December 14th, 2023. After our course is done on December 19, all boxes of cereal will be donated to the Chesterfield Food Bank. Thanks for helping us be RAMS Strong!

• This endeavor is led by Ms. Neboshynsky's 4th grade CBG class. Check out the flyer too!

• Our Lost and Found area is in the front lobby. There are tons of jackets, sweatshirts, etc. in it. We encourage parents to stop by to see if there is anything that belongs to their student.
• All In Tutoring for selected students in grades 3-5 begins this week with students working in Lexia and Dreambox. Tutor coaches have emailed parents to share about what to work on and for how long each week. They will check in with students soon.

PTA Staff Holiday Luncheon

• P.T.A. will co-sponsor a holiday luncheon for the Reams staff on December 5, 2023. P.T.A. will provide the entree and donations will be needed for desserts and drinks. Please see the Sign Up Genius to donate. Thank you!

• Reams P.T.A. will host the Penguin Patch holiday shopping opportunity the week of December 11th with a Santa Breakfast finishing out the week on Saturday, December 16.
• This is a great chance for students to start earning money for completing chores at home.
• There will be a need for parent volunteers to help with Penguin Patch. Please email Reamspta@gmail.com if you are interested in helping. A Sign Up Genius is also available.

• We are excited about our first ever Santa Breakfast organized by our Reams P.T.A. on Saturday, December 16th from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Tickets are required for all attendees. The cost is $5.00 a person which includes the pancake breakfast, winter craft, photo with Santa, and games. There is a limit of 200 attendees. The photo with Santa will include a digital link for you to print the photo however you would like. Children 3 years and younger are free.
