Please remember that for any students to participate in marching band, you must have a current physical on file. Each physical is good for 1 year from the date of the exam. Band Memory Book
Dear Wakeland Band Family,
We are starting work on our Band Memory Book for the 2020-2021 school year. This amazing full color book includes memories from the school year as well as student ads, shout outs, and business ads. Local businesses can really get a lot of bang for their buck, as the pricing is low for a full color ad that hits around 200 families in the Wakeland district.
These business ads help support local businesses and are a benefit for the band as they help cover the printing costs and we can put more pages in with cool pictures and fun memories with more ads. Think of the memory book as a yearbook for the whole program! Each current band/guard student will receive a memory book. Families can also order additional Memory Books for $15.00.
If you would like to purchase an ad to say congrats or give words of encouragement to your student(s), the STUDENT AD is your opportunity.
Pricing is as follows for STUDENT ADS:
Full page Ad - $50.00 (Free for Seniors)
Half Page Ad - $25.00
Quarter Page Ad - $15.00
If you have a fellow band/guard member, Section Leader, Drum Major, or Director that was there for you during the year, the SHOUT OUT is also available. Pricing is as follows for SHOUT OUTS:
$5.00 for 25 words or less (Example: Suzy, couldn't have made it through Marching Season without you, Johnny)
If you or someone you know would like to purchase an ad for their business, the pricing is as follows for BUSINESS ADS:
Full Page Ad - $125.00
Half Page Ad - $75.00
Quarter Page Ad - $50.00
Business Card Size Ad - $30.00
Ad sizes are as follows:
Full Page Ad -- 8.5" W x 11" H (portrait - 2550 x 3300 pixels - 300 dpi/ppi)
Half Page Ad -- 8.5" W x 5.5" H (landscape - 2550 x 1650 pixels - 300 dpi/ppi)
Quarter Page Ad – 4.25" x 5.5" H (portrait - 1275 x 1650 - 300 dpi/ppi)
The deadline for ordering ads and shouts outs for the memory book is Friday, March 26, 2021.
Requests for ads will be done through the 2020/21 Wakeland Band Memory Book Ad Order Google form and an invoice from the treasurer will be sent to you.
Please email your ad, ad content (photo(s) & text), or shout out to whsbandboarddropbox@gmail.com. You will receive an email confirmation that your ad, photo(s) & text, or shout out was received. If you would like us to design your ad together, send us the pictures, wording and any other preferences and we will help create your ad! These can be submitted via email to whsbandboarddropbox@gmail.com. If you choose to have us design your ad, you will receive an email to review and approve the design.
All ads submitted via email must be in JPG format. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT PDF, WORD, OR PUBLISHER FORMATS! Please reference the ad sizes and resolution standards listed above to ensure that your submission aligns with them. If you have questions about resolution, how to save your file in JPG format so the pictures are not stretched or blurry, email whsbandboarddropbox@gmail.com and one of our volunteers working on ad designs will assist you.
There are a lot of great photos you can use on the Wakeland Band SmugMug:
https://wakelandband.smugmug.com/Galleries/2020-2021 or you can use your own.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Band Banquet Memory Book volunteers at whsbandboarddropbox@gmail.com. Please submit your Ad for the Band Memory Book ASAP!
Thank you!

This past week we progressed on our largest ensemble “First Circle”, we played all the way through “Boom Bap” and “Toccata” in preparation for our April 17th performance, and we had very productive rehearsals with our concert band music before our UIL performance on March 31.
This Monday, March 22, will be the first 2021 Drumline Audition Camp from 6:00p-7:30p at Wakeland High School starting in the percussion room.
