Sandhill E-News
Week of 4/14/2025
A Message From Mr. Johnson:
Hello Sandhill Families,
We’ve had another exciting week of hands-on learning and community connections. Here’s a look at what’s been happening and what’s coming up next:
3rd Grade Field Trip
Our third graders visited the Sons of Norway/Norwegian Heritage Center this week, where they learned about Norwegian culture and Stoughton history. This experience connects beautifully with their Wit & Wisdom module "Coming to America," where students explore the stories of immigrants who came to the U.S. in search of a better life.
2nd Grade Field Trip – Next Week
Our second graders will visit Rooted’s Madison School Farm on the far east side of Madison. This urban farm offers students the opportunity to learn where their food comes from through fun, hands-on learning—from seed to plate!
Important Reminder
There will be No School on Friday, April 18th, and Monday, April 21st is a Professional Learning Day for staff. We hope you enjoy a long and restful weekend with your family!
Thank you for your continued support, and have a great weekend!
Bob / Mr. Johnson

School District Updates
Important Health Update:
You may have seen in the news that there has been a rise in measles cases recently. Measles can spread fast at school and make people very sick. Measles can be serious, especially for children under 5, pregnant people, and those with weakened immune systems. The best way to stay protected and keep our school community safe is to get vaccinated. If you have not yet been vaccinated with the MMR vaccine now is a great time to do so! Unvaccinated students and staff may face exclusion from school for up to 21 days following exposure to a measles case.
