Wrapping Up the Year of Discovery
"Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment." – Maria Montessori
As we bring this remarkable Year of Discovery to a close, we are filled with gratitude and admiration for the growth we've witnessed in our students. Discovery in a Montessori environment comes in many forms—through exploration, observation, problem-solving, and the innovation of interconnected ideas.
This year, we saw students light up as they discovered the relationship between fractions and geometry using Montessori materials. Others dove into cultural studies, making connections between geography and the people who inhabit those regions. Some students found their voice during group projects or through storytelling, while others discovered the quiet satisfaction of focused, independent work.
Thank you to our families for supporting your student’s journey—whether it was helping them explore their interests at home, volunteering in the classroom, or simply listening to their stories at the end of each day. Your partnership has helped make this a truly meaningful year.
Here’s to a lifetime of continued discovery! 🔍

A Big Shout Out and Thank You!
El Cazador helps Children's School earn $1000 towards the preschool scholarship program
A heartfelt thank you to Jill Davenport for coordinating a wonderful evening in partnership with El Cazador in Carolina Beach. Thanks to their teamwork, we hosted a successful kickback night that brought together families and community members to enjoy delicious food and great company.
We’re thrilled to share that the event raised $1,000, which will go directly to our Children’s School Scholarship Program for the upcoming school year.
We’re grateful to everyone who joined us in support of our school and to the incredible team at El Cazador for being such valued community partners. We look forward to future collaborations!
Work on Wilmington Success
We are so grateful to our amazing community—and especially to our Board President, Nicole Smith—for the incredible work completed on our campus this past weekend! Thanks to your efforts, our grounds now feature fresh plants, new soil and rock, benches, mulch, and a whole lot of weeding and care.
The transformation was completed in record time by a dedicated crew, and the results are stunning! Students and staff were thrilled to see the beautiful updates when they arrived on Monday morning. What a wonderful way to kick off Global Youth Service Week—surrounded by a refreshed and inspiring environment that reflects the pride we all share in our school community.
Thank you again to everyone who helped make this possible!
👋 Helping Hands 👋
🌿 Weed a Little, Help a Lot! 🌿
Have a few minutes while you're waiting in the car line? Why not soak up some sunshine, get a little fresh air, and help keep our campus looking beautiful?
We're inviting families to take a moment to pitch in with some light landscaping—nothing major, just pulling a few weeds here and there. No need to break a sweat or bring tools! We've got buckets and gloves ready for you in the front lobby.
Even grabbing a handful of weeds makes a big difference and helps our school shine. It’s a quick and easy way to support our community—and maybe even make a new friend while you're at it!
Thanks for helping us grow a more beautiful school—one weed at a time!
