NOVEMBER 6, 2024 - NEWSLETTER
SLPHS families,
Our football team played in the section finals last Friday at Monticello. It was raining and cold. While we did not get the result we hoped for, it was great to see strong support from students and families who drove up and endured the weather to cheer on and support our student athletes. There was similar support for our girls’ soccer team at their sections championship match. It makes me proud to see our students and community come together in support of each other – and we’re fortunate it is commonplace at our school.
We have another opportunity next week to come together on November 13 for parent-teacher conferences AND our Find Your Future event. Find more information about both below. I am looking forward to connecting with many families on November 13.
Tomorrow, watch for our next pulse check coming from Possip. Thanks in advance for sharing insights from your current experience. Your perspectives help us celebrate and improve. We’ll share themes from this round with you next week.
At the end of the month, just before the November break, we will wrap up this first trimester. We want to see all students finish the trimester strong, and value your partnership in creating student success. One school, one community, #SLPPantherProud!
Matthew Boucher
Principal
Evening Conferences, November 13
SLPHS families are welcome to join us for evening conferences on Wednesday, November 13 from 3:30-6 p.m. If you were unable to attend a conference session in October, this is an additional opportunity to meet with your student's teacher.
To find available times for your student's teacher(s), visit the SLPHS conference page and expand the options to select the name of the teacher. You'll then be directed to our Bookings site where you'll be prompted to select a date and time on conference days for those teachers. You can choose either a phone, WebEx, or in-person conference with their student’s teachers. If you are booking on your phone, swipe left to see the full list of teacher names in each category.
Test of district’s notification system to happen Nov. 14
Winter weather is soon upon us which means it is time to check Spring Lake Park Schools’ emergency notification system. We use this system to keep you informed about school closings or delays and other emergency information. The district will be testing the system on Thursday, November 14 at 6:30 p.m. Depending on your communication preferences, you will receive an email, text message, voicemail and/or push notification on the SLP mobile app.
If you do not receive the message on your preferred device in your preferred way or if you need to update your phone number or email address, visit the Stay Connected page and click on the “Update contact information and communication preferences” accordion to find directions. If you have any questions, please contact communications@district16.org
Next Possip Pulse Check: Coming November 7
Our next Possip pulse check is coming your way Thursday, November 7. You will receive a text message and email with a few simple questions asking for feedback on your experience with school. Watch for the messages from Possip and make sure to reply - in your preferred language - to the brief survey and help keep us updated on your experience. You can choose to share your name - or stay anonymous. We do appreciate when people share their names in case there is a need to follow up. It all takes less than a minute.
