Coach's Corner
Yesterday I received a phone call from an Alief employee who was recently at Best. She was complimenting us on the work we have been doing. She shared that the systems and structures we have in place are showing positive results. She said it's not like that at some other campuses. I of course said thank you, but I always follow a compliment about Best with "it's a group effort". We all know that the work we do at Best requires MORE from each of us every day. As we are taking time to tell our co-workers thank you this month, I wish I had time to write a note to every single one of you! Things at Best are working because of YOU!! Because of your persistence and grit implementing systems (Kickboard) and structures (SIOP strategies, STOIC strategies), we are making great gains. Remember, these things are ultimately for our students and their success. Keep up the great work. The quote below says it perfectly.
Have a great weekend!

Thank you, Mr. T!
You have done much to help our students respect the flag and what it stands for.
These students are responsible for raising and lowering our American Flag, Texas Flag, and Alief ISD Flag daily. They take their role seriously as Mr. T has taught them to respect the flag.

Our young men at work!
Say hello to our new cafeteria manager, Ms. Dionne Ferguson!
Morning Movement at its BEST!
I have been roaming around in the mornings "catching" students participating in morning movement and awarding Kickboard dollars! I have to say I have been disappointed entering a few classrooms where not one single student is moving. BUT.....today I hit the jackpot! Watch the video below to see Mr. Arellano's class up and at it! I know the example he is setting with his students by getting up and moving himself makes all the difference for his students. What is important to you is important to your students! Thank you, Mr. Arellano for making movement a priority in your classroom!
