Honoring the Retirement of Beth Justice
Beth Justice is a 1988 graduate of the College of Mount St. Joseph and has also earned a Master's Degree and Certifications from Wright State University. She began teaching Developmentally Handicapped students at Eber Elementary in August of 1988. She also taught 4th and 5th grade at Eber Elementary before being named the Principal of Madison Mills Elementary in 2000. Both Eber and Madison Mills were a part of the Miami Trace Local School District. She was the Principal at Sunnyside Kindergarten in the Washington City School District and then served as Assistant Superintendent at Washington City Schools until 2014. In 2014, Beth became a School Improvement Consultant at Southern Ohio Educational Service Center. In 2016, she was provided the opportunity to be the Director at Hopewell Center. In 2017, Beth became the 15th and first female superintendent at Southern Ohio Education Service Center.
Beth's career has been full of many rewarding moments but seeing students grow and learn has always been the highlight. Beth is passionate about literacy and teaching the whole child. She has been known to say that "once her kids, always her kids" which has held true as she continues to have connections to many of her former students and their families.
In her retirement, Beth plans to read more for pleasure, do some writing, travel and spend time helping others in some capacity.
SOESC Welcomes Casey Enochs as New Assistant Superintendent
From SOESC Superintendent, Curt Bradshaw:
"I am pleased to announce that our Governing Board approved Mrs. Casey Enochs as the new Assistant Superintendent of the Southern Ohio Educational Service Center, effective August 1, 2024.
Mrs. Enochs brings a wealth of experience and dedication to our organization. With 19 years service to families, students, and educators, Casey has a strong background in both education and social work. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Master of Education in Special Education, and licenses for administration and superintendency. Her career began as a social worker, and she has since made significant contributions in various educational roles.
Most recently, Casey served at Miami Trace Local Schools in Fayette County as the Director of Special Education PK-12 since August 2019, and as the Director of the Miami Trace Learning Center since August 2021. In these roles, she directed special education programs and procedures; facilitated Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports, and social-emotional learning; managed budgets; ensured compliance with federal and state laws; and contributed to professional development and strategic planning.
Mrs. Enoch's earlier roles include serving as an Intervention Specialist at Miami Trace Local Schools and East Clinton Local Schools, and working as a Caseworker at Fayette County Children Services.
Outside of her professional achievements, Casey has been married to her husband, Joey, for 18 years. They have a 16-year-old son, Will, who is actively involved in wrestling, and two dogs, Norman and Cliff. Casey enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, watching new television series, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
We are very excited to welcome Casey to her new role and look forward to the valuable contributions she will bring to our organization. Please join me in congratulating her and offering your full support as she transitions into this important position."

News from Our Team
Thank you to all the Southern Ohio ESC and State Support Region 14 team members who volunteered their time setting up KAMP Dovetail and completing registrations for campers. This is an annual tradition that our team members look forward to each year.
Thank you, Greg Barlow, Rhonda Cochran, Ashley Dietrich, Kimberly Douglas, Amanda Ely, Heidi Friend, Jill Kelch, Amy Luttrell, and Taylor Reed.
KAMP (Kids And Motivated People) Dovetail is a volunteer run summer camp sponsored by Supplementary Assistance to The Handicapped ( S. A. T. H.) a non-profit organization. The camp is for children with disabilities in Highland and surrounding counties of Ohio.
The camp is held at the Rocky Fork Lake State Park in Highland County, Ohio. Each child who visits our camp is teamed with their very own camp volunteer. You will notice that we used the word volunteer instead of counselor. That is because everyone at our camp is exactly that. A volunteer! None of the individuals at our camp are paid for their time. Each and every person is there solely for the purpose of ensuring that the campers enjoy their week at camp. Our volunteer staff works diligently all year long to secure donations of cash and supplies from area merchants and individuals. This combination of an all volunteer staff and their year long fund-raising campaigns allows us to offer our camp at a fraction of the cost charged by other similar camps. Our camp has been operating in this fashion for over 30 years.
A special thank you to Linda Allen, SATH Executive Dierctor
