EXCELLENCE
MESSAGE FROM MR. TOOMEY - SUPERINTENDENT
As the leaves turn and display their beautiful autumn colors, we are reminded of the vibrant energy that comes with a new school year. Just as the leaves fall and make way for new growth, we continue to acclimate to the 2024-2025 school year, embracing each day as an opportunity to support the students of the Hanover Township Public Schools. I am continually inspired by the dedication of our incredible administrators, teachers, and staff, along with our wonderful PTAs, parent volunteers, and Board of Education members, who work tirelessly to ensure a positive and enriching learning environment for all.
This month, we celebrated districtwide initiatives like the annual Week of Respect, which featured special programming and spirit days, promoting kindness and unity across our schools. We also participated in Red Ribbon Week, with this year’s national theme being, “Life is a Movie. Film Drug Free,” where students were encouraged to "say no to drugs" and make healthy choices to create their own stories.
It’s hard to believe our second month of the school year is already coming to a close. To those who celebrated Rosh Hashanah earlier this month, here's to a wonderful new year. Also, wishing everyone a safe, enjoyable, and Happy Halloween later this week. Last, but not least, to all who celebrate Diwali, Happy Diwali.
Thank you for your continued partnership and investment in your children’s education as we move forward together!

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING
Teachers engaged in professional development sessions on Columbus Day. These were centered around LinkIt! and supporting Multilingual Learners.
The LinkIt! data platform allows our district to track student assessment performance, helping teachers identify strengths and areas for growth. This data supports personalized learning and helps us adjust instruction to better meet each student’s needs.
To help teachers meet their multilingual learners' needs, there were sessions with Dr. Solange Lopes-Murphy, a professor from TCNJ, dedicated toward providing strategies for language development, cultural responsiveness, and inclusive practices. By equipping teachers with tools to support English language acquisition and academic growth, we can create a learning environment where multilingual students can thrive and reach their full potential.
COMMUNITY HAPPENINGS

Thanks to Hanover Township Recreation, community members were treated to a beautiful day filled with more treats than tricks. Special thanks to Superintendent of Recreation and Parks, Denise Brennan, and her outstanding team for a festive and "spooktacular" event!
