Miller Career & Technology Center students and parents,

Happy New Year! We are excited to welcome everyone back to campus tomorrow, Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Please read below for a few updates and reminders.

It is time to select a 2024 - 2025 Teacher of the Year for Miller Career & Technology Center, and we want to include our students and parents in this very important process. Please click on the link below to nominate one of our exceptional MCTC teachers who has made an impact on your life/your child's life. We want the Spring 2025 semester to be a positive and productive semester for everyone. As we settle back into the swing of things, please be reminded:

• 1st period begins at 7:15 AM. Students are expected to be in their classes, ready to go at this time.
• All students who drive a vehicle to Miller must have a current MCTC parking permit. If you are a new driver or got a new vehicle over the holiday, please make sure you obtain a new parking permit.
• Students must wear their ID badges at all times during school hours, while on school property as part of our district safety requirements.
• Students must follow the Katy ISD dress code while at Miller. Replacement clothing will be available for students who elect not to follow the dress code.

If you are currently a junior and plan to return to MCTC next year, please do not forget that you will need to submit a Miller course request, separate from the Schoolinks course selection process. Mark your calendars: The Miller course request will open Monday, January 27th at 7:00 AM. We will send out reminders as the date nears.

Mrs. Green (Counselor) and/or Ms. Perez (Admissions Specialist) will be visiting all year one classes and providing students with Miller course information.

Additionally, students and parents can attend our High School Preview Night in January, although not required. Please see the flyer below for details and please feel free to share with friends and neighbors.

• Monday, January 20th - Student & Staff Holiday
• Monday, January 27th - 25-26 MCTC Course Request Process opens @ 7:00 AM, MCTC High School Preview Night @ 6:00 PM
• Monday, February 3rd - Adulting 101 sessions through CTE classes
• Friday, February 14th - End of 4th Six Weeks
• Monday, February 17th - Student Holiday

Please click on the button below to view the 2024 - 2025 Katy ISD Semester Exam Exemption criteria. Miller Career & Technology Center follows these exemption expectations and coordinates with home campuses.

This year, we have developed a MCTC EPIC² Student Canvas course, where we will share information with students and parent observers regarding whole-campus procedures, activities, and initiatives. This is just one other source of communication with our community. All students have already been added to the course and therefore, parents have observer access.

Students have 3 options to travel to and from Miller Career & Technology Center:

1. Students may take District-provided bus transportation (Specific route information below.)
2. Students may drive themselves to and from Miller (See Parking Permit Information below.)
3. Students may be dropped off and picked up (see locations below).

All students who drive a vehicle to Miller Career & Technology Center (MCTC) must display a MCTC permit on the front lower right (interior passenger side) window. Payment and application for a permit is required in Pay 'N Go BEFORE driving to MCTC. Please note: Students who drive a vehicle without a permit will be fined.

Instructions:

1. Pay the $10.00 permit fee through Pay 'N Go. Write down your confirmation number.
2. Complete the 24-25 Parking Permit Request form (form requires uploading a copy of student's valid Texas Driver License, proof of current insurance for the vehicle, and Pay 'N Go confirmation #).

• Electronically acknowledge terms of the Parking Agreement (within the Google request form).
• Complete the Permission for Student/Parent-Provided Transportation (within the Google request form).
