Dr. Patterson's Weekly Update
Eagle Pride: Video by Dr. Patterson
November 11, 2019
Happy Veteran's Day Eagles!
What an awesome week at Clyde Erwin! We kicked off the week in a morning meeting with our K-2 students with a focus on responsibility. We looked at several examples of responsibility, including completing work, following directions, and helping keep the campus clean. The students were great listeners. We look forward to meeting with our 3-5 students next Monday.
The Clyde Erwin Button Project is off to an awesome start! Students have met the goal of $60.00 for Academic Derby t-shirts and are continuing to sell Cooperation buttons for one more week to benefit Academic Derby. Our IB Attitude for our next button is Empathy, and students will have the opportunity to submit designs for empathy beginning next week. Start thinking about a great design for Empathy to submit to the judges!
Midterm reports were sent home on Wednesday, November 6. It is hard to believe we are over halfway through second quarter! If you have concerns or questions about your child's progress, please email, call, or DoJo message your child's teacher about a conference. Teachers are available for conferences at 7:30am, grade level planning during the day, and at 3:30pm by appointment.
We are having some issues with students dressing down on Fridays without permission. We typically have one dress-down day fundraiser per month, and it is advertised in our newsletter and through a call to parents. We do not have student dress-down days every Friday. Our next student dress-down day is Tuesday, November 26. Thank you for everyone's help in following our school dress code.
Box Tops
Thank you to all who donated Box Tops! We just mailed out our box for November. Please continue to collect Box Tops and turn them in by April. Box Tops provide extra funding for our school.
THANK YOU for being a Box Tops Hero!
Make-up Days
We have one additional make-up day due to time missed during Hurricane Dorian. Students will also attend school on Friday, January 3, 2020, which was a teacher workday and is now a student day. Please make adjustments to your calendars.
