Endeavour Elementary
Eagle News - Vol.1 - October 2, 2023
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Families,
We've had a great start to the new school year! Our staff theme for this year is "Endeavour Connect." We believe the most important basis for learning is found in relationship. When kids feel they are valued, seen and belong, learning can flourish! Throughout the year we will be focusing on strengthening connections between our staff, students and families.
Thank you for those who took the time to attend our Family Engagement Conferences and those that attended the PTA Dance last Friday. Both of these events were fantastic opportunities for our community to CONNECT!
As I start year two at Endeavour, I am incredibly grateful for our amazing families and the partnership and support your offer our school community.
With gratitude,
Tamara

Pictures for P.E.
Mrs. Mukai and Mr. Norman are seeking photos of Endeavour Athletes being active over the summer to feature on our bulletin board! These can be any activity your child was involved in this summer, i.e. hiking, biking, swimming, team sport, etc.
If you are interested and have a picture you would like to share, please send it to school with your child, or simply email it to Mrs. Mukai or Mr. Norman.
Thanks!
Mrs. Mukai and Mr. Norman
Attendance
Let us know!
If you need to report an absence, tardy, or early dismissal, call our office at 425-366-2800, utilize the attendance line at 425-366-2801 or email us!
Please note that teachers do not always have the opportunity to inform the office that your child is going to be absent. Please include office staff on all attendance emails to teachers.
If you are are planning an extended absence, a Pre-arranged form must be completed and returned at least one week prior to your child's planned absence. Please email So-Jung Park, Dean of Students, for more information on policies and how to complete the form.
Tips for Success!
- Set a regular bedtime and morning routine
- Lay out clothes and pack backpacks the night before
- Develop backup plans for getting to school if something comes up. Call a family member, a neighbor, or another parent.
- Try scheduling medical appointments and extended trips when school isn’t in session
- If your child seems anxious about going to school, talk to teachers, school counselors and other parents for advice on how to make your child feel comfortable and excited about learning
Students who attend school regularly have been shown to achieve at higher levels. When children are absent from school, they miss out on consistent instruction that is needed to develop basic skills. Children in early grades are particularly susceptible to falling behind in fundamental reading skills, which can have a snowball effect that impacts future learning.
The most crucial hours of a school day are the morning hours because this is when students are most attentive. Students who are tardy miss the beginning of their morning classes, and they also cause a distraction when they arrive late to class. Please drop off your students by the final bell at 8:55 to ensure they enter their classroom on time. Remember, you can drop your child off as early as 8:40 am. where they have the option to have breakfast, or line up with their class and get ready for their day.
Our goal is to help your child learn and grow, and it starts with being here. We all belong here.
Drop Off/Pick Up
We are asking for your help to keep our students safe at drop off and pick-up time.
For those that use Double Eagle Drive:
- Drive down to the end of the road, turn around and park on the school side to drop off/pick up your student.
- Do not drive on the side walk.
- Do not flip U-turns.
- Do not wave your child across the street in the middle of the road.
- Please, slow down and be aware of all the children.
We understand you may be in a hurry. All of us are in a hurry. However, the safety of your child, and other children need to be our priority.
Art Docent
We need YOU! Parents/guardians/responsible adults to help foster critical creative skills. That’s right YOU! We need parent volunteers to become art docents. It’s quite straightforward; we have pre-designed lessons, we have supplies, and we have kids who need art in their lives. We don’t have teachers. Liz Lund will be doing a training on how to be an art docent on Friday October 6th at 1:15. If you can’t make the training please let me know as I manage the supplies and such for the Art Docent program. If you have any questions please send them to artdocent@endeavourpta.org
