FIRST DAYS OF THE 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR
Sept. 5, 2024 marked the first day of the 2024-25 school year! It was great to see so many smiling faces again!

TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT HELD PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR EMPLOYEES
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT FORUM FOCUSING ON 2024 CAPITAL PROJECT
The District is hosting a Community Engagement Forum on Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m. at APHS focusing on the upcoming 2024 Capital Project referendum. Community members have the opportunity to listen to District officials explain the cost, proposed work and critical need for repairs and improvement districtwide. To RSVP, please click here!
CAM DALEY AND THEO TICHEY NAMED WARRIORS OF THE WEEK FOR WEEK OF SEPT. 9, 2024
Congratulations to Cam Daley and Theo Tichey on being named the Averill Park Warriors of the Week for the week of Sept. 9, 2024!
Cam – Had 6 aces, 15 kills, 15 assists, 5 blocks & 25 digs at the Penfield Tourn.
Theo – Had a combined 10 saves in goal as AP tied Queensbury 0-0 and defeated South Glens Falls 1-0.

AMS STUDENTS COMPLETE NUMBER CHALLENGE WITH MS. VICTOR
AMS students with Ms. Victor were challenged to count how many “sevens” there are in counting from 1 to 100 and how many “zeroes” there are in counting from 1 to 1000!

Algonquin Middle School hosted its "Learning Launch" open house on Sept. 11, 2024 for students and their families!
APHS HOSTING "FREESTYLE" OPEN HOUSE
Averill Park High School will be hosting a “Freestyle” Open House from 5:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024!
No bells! No Schedules! Come at any time you’d like, between the above hours! Stay for as long, or as short, as you’d like! See who’d you like to see, on YOUR SCHEDULE! Students are welcome with their parents and guardians!
The entire APHS Leadership Team, Faculty, and Support Services Staff will be available out front of the High School from 5:45 pm – 7:15 pm. Tables will be organized by Department/Team.
Student-led tours of the building are also available!

Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning Matthew Hladun served as a panelist for a statewide discussion on Multi-Tiered Systems and Supports (MTSS), hosted by SUNY Albany!
APHS RECOGNIZED AS 2023-24 "SCHOOL OF DISTINCTION BY NYSPHSAA
22 Varsity teams at APHS qualified the District to be recognized as a 2023-24 “School of Distinction” by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA)
PES SECRETARY MRS. WICKS READS TRUE STORY ABOUT SEPT. 11, 2024 TO STUDENTS
PES Secretary Mrs. Wicks took extra time on Sept. 11, 2024 to read a special, true story, "Fireboat" about a hero on Sept. 11, 2001 to Mrs. Rhatigan’s class. Thank you Mrs. Wicks!
