Good Afternoon McCarthy Parents and Caretakers,
I wanted to personally reach out and reintroduce myself to our wonderful school community. My name is Kaleb Smith and I am truly looking forward to continuing working with you all as Interim Principal of McCarthy Elementary School. We have an amazing staff at the McCarthy school and we are all dedicated to the academic and social-emotional needs of all students.
I have worked for Framingham Public Schools for the past 13 years and have served in various positions during this time. I previously worked as a 4th grade Special Education teacher with our students in the Developmental Delay program at McCarthy School. Then, I began the 2023-2024 school year as Vice Principal of McCarthy School, primarily supporting Grades 1, 3, & 5. In addition to teaching and administration, I also previously served as the District MCAS Alternative Assessment Trainer and a PBIS Coordinator. I have been so fortunate to work with such an amazing group of students and educators at this school and I have sincerely enjoyed getting to know many of you.
I enjoy being with family and I have three children of my own. Camping and spending time outdoors are some of my favorite things to do. I am planning a meet and greet playground night
in the beginning of May to help build community and to foster our commitment to belonging. I am hoping that caregivers, students, and staff can all come together, so we have the opportunity to meet each other and socialize with one another. At this event, you will also have the opportunity to meet Sara Machkowsky, our Interim Vice Principal as well as Julie Holt, Vice Principal. I will share more details about this event in the coming weeks.
