Principal's Message
Dear Bethany Families,
If you didn't get a chance to read my previous Parent Square from Monday regarding report cards, please take a moment to review those. I really want parents and guardians to fully understand what the "grades" mean and how they have changed from previous progress reports. I'm hoping you can access them soon! 🙂
A big thank you to Mr. Smith for organizing the walking field trip to Westview High School's Choir Festival today for 4th and 5th grade students. THANK YOU to our volunteers who came out in numbers to support the experience. I'm so proud of our Bethany choir who performed!! I heard that it was inspiring to see the middle and high school choirs and the opportunities students have to join in the future! 🎼
Hopefully I'll see you tomorrow at the Glow Dance!
Sincerely,
Ms. Rosenquist

Staff Room Restock
Please help us restock the staff room for our educators and staff. They do so much for our students and families! Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. We will collect items in front of the school on Wednesday February 5th from 2:15-2:45pm. Thank you!
Kindness Week
February 10 - 14
Bethany's annual Kindness Week will be February 10-14th. During this week, our school will focus on kindness and friendship instead of a traditional Valentine's Day event. The commercial Valentine's Day tends to focus on individual romantic love, but as a school community, we value inclusive kindness, friendship, and caring.
During Kindness Week, classes will plan secret acts of kindness to do as a class throughout the week.
Students can also take part in our daily dress-up themes and kindness challenges - Please see the daily themes attached. Students will not be exchanging any store-bought cards and treats or having a traditional Valentine’s Day Party.
Please do not bring any Valentine's cards or treats to school.

Rainy Weather = Muddy Clothes
Time to Plan Ahead.
As we enter the rainy season, our playground often becomes muddy. While we can ask students to avoid the grass, it only takes one misstep for them to end up covered in mud.
We've already had to reach out to several families to bring in fresh clothes. We're suggesting that all parents pack an extra set of clothes in their child's backpack to save everyone a trip. You might think it’s not needed, but trust us, it happens across all grades.
Public Library Card Available to BSD Students
BSD students are given a public library card through BSD’s partnership with Washington County Cooperative Library Services (WCCLS).
New students enrolled between October 2023 and October 2024 received cards in the mail in November-December. Students with cards from previous school years can continue to use them. The cards have been renewed.
With the Student Library Card, students can:
• Check out up to five print books or audiobooks from any WCCLS library without any overdue fines
• Borrow ebooks in Sora from BSD and the public library (*directions*)
• Access Homework Help
• Access additional digital content

Volunteering At Bethany
We want to thank all of our parents who have signed up in the new volunteer system. If you still need to sign-up please use the link below.
School Supplies
Please click on the links below and help us by donating.
You will not find a school supply list for Bethany. Rather than every family having to do their own shopping, we collect money for supplies. We began this a few years ago and it has worked well. This year we are asking for a donation of $35.00 per student.
These donations are flexible, and confidential--only the office knows who donates and how much.
We understand that some families are not able to afford the cost of supplies. All children will receive the same supplies, regardless if they are able to contribute towards the cost. Some families may be in the position to make an extra donation towards helping others. If you would like to help by giving extra money, please click on the "Donations" tab that appears on your child's grade level page.
