Better Together

Dear Wiggin Street Families,

The weather has been interesting this week, and it's hard to believe that it could be 70 degrees on Monday! I don't want to jinx it, but today did not feel like March was coming in like a lion. Maybe Punxsutawney Phil was right!

This week wrapped up our 2024 Math-a-thon, and we are so grateful for the generosity of our community. We have some things in the works to add some music to our playground. We can't wait to share! Check out all the great pictures and videos below from the Escape Room, Stairwells performance, Money Machine, and Raffle Reward winners.

Mr. Evans and Mrs. Springer have been combining classes this week to teach dances for our 3rd Quarter PBIS Dance Party reward. It will be great with the new sounds system we had put in last summer. Mrs. Springer is also accepting sign-ups for this year's Talent Show. Students have to be signed up by March 21st, and I know the kids are excited!

Do you know anyone that wants to be a Wiggin Street Kid? Mrs. Phillips is scheduling kindergarten registration appointments now for students in the Wiggin Street attendance area. If the child will be open enrolled to Wiggin Street, they will need to be registered at their home school. March begins returning open enrollment, and April begins new open enrollment. We can't wait to meet you!

Kiwanis Reads

Kiwanis member and Park National Bank Freedom Years Manager, Matia Mathews, had the opportunity to fill her bucket reading to Mrs. Sanders' kindergarten class this week. Kiwanis Reads is a literacy initiative of the Mount Vernon Kiwanis clubs where members read a children's story to kindergarten classrooms at all six Mount Vernon Elementary schools.

Chess Club Tournament Winners

Congratulations, to Graham Keller and Patrick Emig for winning 1st and 2nd place respectively at the Chess Club Tournament on Monday! Their skilss are amazing as evidenced by the video below.

Happy birthday, Ohio!

Ms. Waugh's class celebrated Ohio's birthday today with a Web Quest and Ohio symbol games.
