Dear Loon Lake families,
It was another great week at Loon Lake elementary. Thank you to all of you who came out for our curriculum night. We really enjoyed talking with all of you.
This week the PTA will sponsor Breakfast with a buddy on Friday at 8:00 AM. I hope to see you all there!

1/2 Day of School - Tuesday, September 24st
We have a half day of school on Tuesday, September 24th. Our half day of school dismissal plan is as follows:
12:20- Loon Loop dismissal begins
12:25 - Walkers and PrimeTime Care Students are dismissed
12:25- Begin loading buses
12:35- Bus Departure

It is very important that you take time to review the Loon Lake Handbook, which is filled with important information, policies and procedures.
**Please be sure to note the section on birthday treats.
Consider Signing Up To Provide Breakfast Treats for the LLE Staff
The Loon Lake Staff is OUT OF THIS WORLD! This year, we are looking for volunteers who would be willing to provide breakfast treats for Team LLE each month. Families can sign up to donate on their own or you can partner up with another family. (Suggestions for treats are things like bagels/cream cheese, donuts, yogurt and fruit, etc.)
Please note the following:
- Items can be dropped off in the office at 8am on the day you've signed up for.
- We ask that you provide treats for 50 people.

Please read this letter from the high school regarding this year's Homecoming Parade.
We are excited to welcome you back for this year’s Homecoming Parade which will take place at 5:00pm on Friday, September 27th, 2024! The parade will start promptly at 5:00pm, so please have your students arrive by 4:45pm to get their Future Viking Shirts and hop in your school’s designated spot in line!
We are again providing Future Viking shirts to those who walk in the parade! There is a google form below for your families to fill out regarding shirt size information! After the parade there will be a few fun activities for families to enjoy, such as bounce houses, a dunk tank, face painting, snacks, yard games, and more. Wrist bands will be available for for $10 purchase, or families can pay for items individually.

Food Service Updates
Just a Reminder!
During the 2024- 2025 school year, all Michigan public school students in grades Pre-K through 12 will have access to free breakfast and free lunch every day through the "Healthy School Meals for All" program. This includes a meat/meat alternative, grain, fruit/vegetable and milk. A la carte items will be available for purchase.
Families are still encouraged to complete the free/reduced meal form in Skyward help secure additional funding for the District including Title I funding. By completing the form, eligible families may also receive access to other free and reduced programs within the District including SAT testing, pay to participate, and more.
PrimeTime Care Updates
Prime Time Care is designed for parents who require child care before and/or after school. This state-licensed program is available at all twelve elementary schools for children enrolled in Junior Kindergarten through fifth grade. Prime Time Care follows the Walled Lake Consolidated Schools calendar for holiday recess and inclement weather closings. Check the link below for updates!
