Stevenson High School

Principal's Note:
Dear Spartans
SHS - AP Honor Roll 23-24
"Congratulations to Stevenson High School! Your school, Stevenson High School, has earned a place on the AP® School Honor Roll for the 2023-24 school year! On behalf of everyone in the AP community, congratulations to you and your colleagues. The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools that have done outstanding work to welcome more students into AP courses and support them on the path to college success. Research shows that students who take AP courses and exams are more likely to attend college and graduate on time. The students who enter four-year colleges with credit from AP accelerate their path to graduation and build confidence for college success. And even for those who don’t earn college credit, AP coursework provides early exposure to college-level work and contributes to a college-going school culture. We know it takes a significant schoolwide effort—dedication from teachers, counselors, administrators, students, and parents—to make AP access a priority."

Bus Cancellations
As was communicated over the past few weeks, our LPS Transportation Department is experiencing a bus driver shortage. Every effort has been made to recruit, train and hire new drivers, but this does take some time.
While our Transportation Department is making some progress on staffing, we find it necessary to cancel three buses next week, Oct. 7 - 11 for the following:
Bus K, Bus L and Bus M, which service students at Buchanan, Cooper, Emerson, Franklin, Riley, Roosevelt and Stevenson. The cancelations are for one week, and are for AM and PM routes.
If your student has a special transportation plan in place via an IEP, they will not be affected, as those routes will remain operational. For high schoolers who take the shuttle from their home high school to their magnet program (CAPA, MSC, LCTC), the shuttles will operate as normal, however, be sure to check route to and from the home high school.
We truly apologize for this inconvenience; however, we are glad to see some progress toward making our bus driver staffing more complete. We thank you for your patience during this time.
Thank you,
LPS Administration & Transportation Department
