From the Principal Desk—
Hello Hilltopper Families!
What a fantastic first week back to school we've had! We've been lucky to enjoy beautiful sunshine and we're already settling into a smooth routine. This week has been packed with learning activities, including the popular Basketball Jones Assembly, hearing screenings for 1st and 3rd graders, Bus Safety Training with the Transportation Department, and tomorrow's Picture Day. Our Park students have been busy!
We've also made a change to recess before lunch, and it's already making a noticeable difference. Students are eating better, behavior in the cafeteria has improved, and there's greater focus in the classroom!
I’m excited to see you TONIGHT at the Park Open House which takes place from 6-7 PM. Remember, there are two 30 minute sessions-one at 6:00 PM and one at 6:30 PM. This “adults only” event is a great chance to hear from your child’s teacher about our procedures, expectations and more. You will have an opportunity to speak more in depth with your child’s teacher during fall conferences.
Thank you for your support with the new car rider procedure. Having parents meet students at the door has enhanced the safety and security of our students and staff during dismissal. Please remember to bring your passes with you!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Makee

Jim Basketball Jones Assembly
PBIS School Assembly: “Be Kind and Do the Right Thing”
Jim’s PBIS school assembly focuses on being kind and doing the right thing.
In this fun and engaging school assembly, Jim Basketball Jones motivates students to give their best effort, encourage others and never give up. This assembly was filled with interactive activities that allowed students to practice being respectful, responsible and safe while having fun and cheering on their classmates.

Hello and welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!
We are so excited and fortunate to take care of your children at Park this school year. Please remember, we value our relationship with our parents and consider our relationship a partnership. Please include us, when appropriate, on medical and health communication. For example, if you send your teacher a message (email or dojo message) regarding medical information, it is best to include us to keep us in the loop on medical/health concerns regarding your child.
Below are a few important items to review:
1.) Immunizations are required in the school setting. Immunization information from your health care provider needs to be sent to us and available before 8/28/24 in order to avoid exclusion from school. Please call with questions regarding this and thank you to all who have already sent us this information!
2). Vision and hearing screenings will be conducted in the near future. If your child saw an eye doctor over the summer, he/she does not need to be screened again. Please let us know this and will document this. Also, let us know if the child wears glasses or is in the process of getting glasses.
3.) If your child has a medical plan or needs medication at school, a new plan and new medication order are needed every year at school. A doctor or nurse practitioner has to fill out this information. Again, please call the clinic with questions regarding this.
4.) Please send an extra change of clothes in your child's bookbag in case a need arises for them to change.
5.) Please be mindful of not sending your child to school if the child is exhibiting signs of illness (temperature, productive cough, vomiting, for example). We want to avoid clusters of illnesses.
**Our number one goal is to keep your child in school and be an encouragement to the child at school. We will focus on healthy habits and promote perseverance in health! If we recognize your child has been coming to the clinic too frequently or missing school frequently, we will call and discuss with you to identify how we can help and try to figure out a pattern behind the visits.
Thank you for partnering with us this school year and please call us with any questions!
Sincerely,
Sarah Park BSN RN sarah.park@chardonschools.org
