Celebrating Our School Grade - We Are an A Three Years in a Row
SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL
The School Advisory Council meetings are conducted the first Tuesday of each month. Each school in the State of Florida must have a School Advisory Council (SAC) Parent Advisory Council (PAC). By law, each SAC/PAC must be composed of the principal and an “appropriately balanced” number of “stakeholders.” These individuals must be representative of the ethnic, racial and economic makeup of the community served by the school. The team of people representing various segments of the community could include parents, teachers, students, administrators, support staff, business/industry people and other interested community members.
The purpose of a SAC/PAC is to assist in the preparation and evaluation of the results of the school improvement plan and to assist the principal with the annual school budget. Additionally, SAC/PAC receives funds to be used at the discretion of the council. A portion of the money should be used for implementing the school improvement plan. Funding for use by SAC should be allocated directly to the council, should be clearly earmarked for their use and is not subject to override by the principal or interim approvals by school district staff. These funds may be expended only on programs or projects selected by the council, not school capital improvements.
What is a School/Parent Advisory Council? The School Advisory Council (SAC) Parent Adcisory Council (PAC) is a school-based group intended to represent the school, the community, and those persons closest to the students. The group shares responsibility for guiding the school toward continuous improvement. The district school board is responsible, by Florida law, for establishing an advisory council for each school in the district and shall develop procedures for the election and appointment of advisory council members. Each SAC/PAC shall include in its name the words “school advisory council.” For further information, please see: Section 1001.452(1)(a), Florida Statutes.
What is the role of the School/Parent Advisory Council? The School Advisory Council (SAC) Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is responsible for final decision making at the school relating to the implementation of the provisions of the annual School Improvement Plan (SIP). The SAC/PAC assists in the annual preparation and evaluation of both the SIP and the school’s annual budget. For further information, please see: Section 1001.452(1)(a), Florida Statutes.
Who serves on the School/Parent Advisory Council? Beginning July 1, 2008, it is a requirement that the majority of the members of the School/Parent Advisory Council (SAC/PAC) are persons who are not employed by the school district. A SAC/PAC should be composed of the principal and an appropriately balanced number of teachers, education support employees, students, parents, and other business and community citizens who are representative of the ethnic, racial, and economic community served by the school. Certain members are elected by their peers, while business and community members are appointed, and the principal automatically serves. Only students in secondary schools serve on a SAC. For further information, please see: Section 1001.452(1)(a), Florida Statutes.

ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
We will be continuing our car dismissal system this school year. Please see below for details:
- Drive through the main entrance and have your barcode car tag ready to be scanned by a staff member.
- Once scanned, hang your barcode car tag from your rearview mirror so that your family name is visible.
- Follow the parent car loop towards the front of the school and proceed to the cone number assigned to you at the entrance and wait at that cone.
- Your child will be notified immediately in their classroom when your tag is scanned and will be waiting for you at the specified cone.
- Staff members will assist your child in the car on the passenger side only.
- Remove your car tag once your child is in the car so the staff knows that you are ready.
- All cars will be dismissed at the same time. If your child is delayed, you may be asked to pull forward to a designated space and we will walk your child to you.
*** If you do not have your car tag available during dismissal, you will be asked to park. Once dismissal is over around 2:25pm, you will go to the front office with your ID to gather your child.
Student Code of Conduct
Please review the Student of Code of Conduct. On September 4th, the School Board will be approving the FY25 Student Code of Conduct. We will update you when it's available.
