SMORE to Parent Square Change

We have begun phasing out of the SMORE newsletter to Parent Square. During this time you will receive newsletters from SMORE and Parent Square. Starting in May, SMORE will no longer be used. At this time, only parents and students will receive the Parent Square newsletter.

ACTs for Juniors
Attention ALL JUNIORS! This is your one chance to take the ACT for free at school! Why take the ACT? It looks great on a college application or a resume and some post secondary programs require it for entrance. Even if you decide to take it your Senior year, this is great practice. Did we mention it's FREE?? Please consider signing up below.

Volunteer Opportunities

Service to our community is an amazing way to give back, and it’s also a unique opportunity for earning a service learning credit. Please go to the Youth Service- Community Volunteering Website for more information *Be sure to visit my.innerview.org for all updated opportunities.
*Please note, if you sign up to volunteer, people are counting on you, you must communicate with the supervising person if you are not able to attend at least 24 hours in advance.
EXTRA HOURS AWARDED: FARE FOR ALL: Are you able to help members of our community put groceries in their cars? Your help is needed at our Diamondhead Education Center Atrium from 3p-5p on the following dates: April 23, May 21, June 25, July 30, Aug. 27, Sept 24, Oct 22, Nov. 19, and Dec. 17. You will earn 6 hours of community service for each day you volunteer.
Community of Excellence Awards Volunteers 2 hours of service will be provided for .75 of work. YOU MUST WEAR LONG PANTS AND A SHIRT OR SKIRT/DRESS (NO SHORTS OR SWEATSHIRTS). You will meet at 4p in the lobby area of the Mraz and you will be given a badger and assigned your volunteer duty. The ceremony starts at 4:45p and you may leave then. Basketball at BHS for Blaze Swim Team On May 17 and 18, students can earn volunteer hours while watching basketball at Burnsville High School. Sign up as a court monitor to earn service hours. Turn Up Community Service Internship Apply today to take part in a free Civic & Activism Remote Internship that is tailored to accommodate your commitments & responsibilities. This is a fully remote and flexible schedule that allows you the opportunity to grow into a more capable & responsible citizen and develop your professional skills. Tutoring Center Now Open! Seeking tutors for the tutoring center on MONDAYS and or WEDNESDAYS from 2:40-3:20.

Spring Clean Up On Monday April 21st 2:40-3:20p, YSAC will be sponsoring our annual Spring Clean Up Event on the BHS Campus in honor of our National Earth Day. Students will meet at door 18 in the E commons. Volunteers will be provided with garbage bags and gloves. This is a great event to earn 4 hours of volunteer service. Use the link to sign up today!

BrainPower in a BackPack in Main Cafeteria After School
BrainPower in a BackPack is offered as a volunteer opportunity each Thursday afterschool from 2:36-3:20. 1 hour of service is given for participation. Please join us and help provide food support to students and their families as BrainPower gets ready for the weekly Thursday food pack for 750 students across the district.
