WFBHS Parent/Guardian Link

AVID 11 Students engage in a collaborative activity that requires communication, problem-solving and teamwork!
Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,
I'd like to take the opportunity in this Newsletter to share a little bit about an important system in our school: MTSS.
Our school's Multi-Level System of Support (MTSS) is a proactive approach to ensuring all students receive the help they need. We regularly monitor student progress, including grades, to identify areas where additional support may be necessary.
Every three weeks, teachers update their gradebooks, providing a snapshot of student performance. This data helps us identify students who might benefit from extra assistance and ensures our students meet eligibility requirements for sports/activities. I will remind you of these updates in this newsletter and encourage you to access your child's grades through Family Access on these dates. Checking every three weeks allows your student to be independent without any big surprises!
Our Pupil Services Support Team (counselors, administrators, school psychologist, and interventionists) reviews student data together to determine if additional support is needed. This collaborative approach allows us to provide timely help to our 900+ students.
I'm grateful for our MTSS process, as it enables us to partner with you in support of students' academic success and social-emotional well-being. Moving forward, whenever you read that we have "Grade Update," you will know that this system is at work for WFBHS students.
We will have an advisory schedule on Friday for our Sources of Strength kickoff for the year!
Kind regards,
Amy Levek
