Community Resources
A message from your Principal!
Welcome Back, Team Logan!
We hope you had a wonderful summer and are as excited as we are for the new school year! Ms. Wrightson and I have been thrilled to see our students back in action, and it's clear that everyone is diving into the year with enthusiasm and dedication.
As we embark on this new journey, we want to emphasize the importance of our core values: our virtue's language, community circles, and “Keeping it R.E.A.L.” These principles are the foundation of our Community Promise and House Culture, and they guide us as we strive to reach our goals.
Our mission remains steadfast: “Unleashing our Will for Academic Excellence and Building Authentic Relationships.” This isn’t just a slogan for us; it’s a daily practice that we are committed to upholding. To support this mission, we need to work together to ensure that our students reach their full potential, both academically and socially.
Attendance is Key
One area that needs our collective attention is attendance. Our state-mandated goal is a 94% attendance rate. Last year, our rate was 90.71%, so we need everyone's help to improve this. It is crucial that students arrive on time and stay for the entire school day. Our doors open at 8:55 AM, and the late bell rings at 9:10 AM. Arriving on time helps students engage fully in the morning routines, setting them up for success.
Dismissal is at 3:55 PM. Walkers will be dismissed at their classroom door, with a sign posted outside the window indicating the classroom number. For early pick-ups, we ask that you avoid signing out your child after 3:30 PM unless it's an absolute emergency. Early departures can disrupt your child’s educational experience and create confusion.
Parking and Car Loop Procedures
For safety reasons, the front loop is for buses only. Please do not park in crosswalks or driveway, and please, please be patient and obey the parking signs. This includes no parking on Merrit Boulevard. Please use the car loop to drop off your students in the morning. Last year, it became increasingly dangerous on Dunmanway. You do not need a car tag to drop off your student in the morning at the car loop. I know parking can be challenging, so we strongly encourage you to use the car loop in the morning and afternoon. We must make sure all our students are safe!!!!
Join Our PTA
We’re excited about the events and activities planned for this year and encourage you to be a part of them. Our first PTA meeting will be on September 10th at 4:30 PM in the school library. PTA meetings will occur on the second Tuesday of each month. Join us to meet the new executive board and share ideas to make Team Logan the best it can be. Your support and participation are crucial to our success.
Thank you for being a vital part of our school community. Let’s make this school year the best one yet!
Your principal,
Mr. Parker
