School Computers for the 2024-2025 School Year
HCS will transition to a 1:1 computer program for all students in grades K-8 for the next school year. This means that every student in these grades will be assigned a Chromebook to use during the school day, and students starting in 5th grade will be allowed to take the device home each day.
For 5th-8th graders, this is a change from our previous policy of allowing students to bring their own devices (BYOD). We believe that providing a consistent and reliable device for all students will enhance their learning experience, ensure equitable access to technology, and strengthen our cybersecurity posture by allowing us to manage and secure devices consistently.
Starting with the 2025-2026 school year, 9th graders will be issued brand new devices, marking the beginning of a multi-year rollout program that will eventually see our entire high school become a 1:1 environment. We look forward to sharing more details about this exciting initiative in the coming months.
HCS is using Linewize Monitor to create a safe online environment for our students. Please click here for more information regarding Linewize Monitor.
