Positive Momentum
It's October which means there is a LOT going on. There is definitely positive momentum as we rebuild community and build toward the future:
- We're holding Parent-Teacher conferences on Wednesday, Oct 16th, 6-8 pm. We'll be printing out a hard copy of your student's grades which you can pick up. The PT conferences will be "arena style" meaning that you can get in line to speak to the teachers you want. Please make an effort to come out to speak to your daughter's teachers.
- Friday night, Oct 18th, is our Mother-Daughter Paint night. Here is the signup form and here is the link to buy tickets, although you can buy at the door. It's a fun way to meet other moms and spend a special night with your daughter.
- The following week we'll be hosting our Open House on October 22nd from 6-8 pm. We're asking every student to be here because we want to feature our students. They'll be playing volleyball (senior night vs. Greenfield starts at 6 pm), rehearsing the fall play, demonstrating art projects, chemistry & biology experiments, and much more! We could use some help with hospitality so I hope you can join us. And I also hope you can invite your friends and family. It's open to all!
- The student uniform committee has made their final recommendations and they have introduced three new changes to the uniform outlined on this page. Three new colors of polos are now official (gray, navy, and pink), hoodies and crew necks in white, navy, gray, and gold are now available, and we now have a new school blanket.
- We're rebuilding our Alumnae database so please send this form to any alumnae you knowso we can keep the momentum.
- The School Board met last week. They have begun the work of working on the recommendations of the Limited Institutional Assessment conducted by a national Catholic consultancy group. Rather than share the entire report, here are the recommendations.
- We've decided to offer a $500 referral bonus to any returning family for each new family you bring in. This is on top of any other financial assistance!
- We just found out that Notre Dame has earned recognition on the AP Honor Roll with the highest level--Platinum!
- We've had 23 shadow visits so far. Interest in Notre Dame is high!
- Last week we announced that Dior Lowhorn, who is currently serving as Sacred Heart's Athletic Director and PE teachers, will be our new basketball coach. He has fantastic experience and a teaching mindset that should make him a great addition to our program.
