Attendance
As a school we continue to be on track to produce some outstanding attendance results again this term. A reminder that the expectation is for students to be attending school regularly. Regular Attendance is considered 90% or more attendance for the term.
I thank the school community for their cooperation and support regarding attendance. Remember more time at school for students leads to more learning experience exposure and positive social interactions.
Students, who finish the term with attendance at 90% or higher, will go in the draw for a $100 Prezzy Card and a Te Aroha Pools Voucher. As I write this blurb a number of students are sitting on 88- 89%, a full Week 11 will help them get to 90%!
During our first Assembly in Term 2 we will hand out the Outstanding Attendance Certificates. Students whose attendance is 97% or higher will receive one of these special certificates.
Early next term we'll share our attendance statistics for Term 1.

EPR08 - Morrinsville Inter Schools Challenge
What an awesome group of students I took to Morrisville Intermediate this week to compete in the Inter Schools EPRO8 Challenge. Two Year 7/8 teams (Wednesday evening from 5:00 -8:00 pm) and two Year 5/6 teams Thursday morning from 9:30-12:00 pm) worked towards completing very difficult challenges. During this time they all displayed great skills of communication, collaboration, risk-taking, perseverance and teamwork. I am so very proud of the teams and would like to express my thanks to all the parents and family members who were able to attend and support with a special mention to Megan French and Kane Holder for providing transport.
Two great events took place and while we didn't make the Top 3 in either age group this year, there was a huge amount of skill displayed and learning to come out of the events. Please check out the photos and videos to get an idea of the fast-paced environment the students worked in and how they were judged on meeting a set of criteria.
Congratulations to all the students on their efforts.
Fondest Regards
Mrs Donnis Harrison

Netball 'Give it a go' day
What a great afternoon of Netball with our Future Ferns!
On Wednesday, there were 80+ kids from around the district at Te Aroha Primary School getting involved in skills sessions and playing some Netball. We had a great time and everyone got into it and gave everything a go.
We had some special guests with us too! Nick Burton from NetballSMART helped support the warm up and ran a skills session. We also had Ameliaranne Ekanasio and Saviour Tui from the Magic who came and helped out with our Fun day! A big thank you to these guests for taking the time to support our centre. The kids (and parents) were a little star-struck but learnt so much from you all.
We couldn’t have had this day without the support of our Te Aroha community, firstly our Junior Committee for their time and efforts organising the day and to the College girls who came along and helped.
Thank you to our amazing sponsors, Twenty 20 concrete, Best Meats 2, Countdown Te Aroha & Fonterra who donated spot prizes, sausages and BBQ supplies.
We are really excited for the season to get underway, Wednesday, Week 1 of Term 2. If you have not yet registered please get in contact with me ASAP. If you are keen to coach or just be involved, there are workshops being held this weekend - Please register here... https://docs.google.com/.../1FAIpQLScpH59TgYj.../viewform...
Bring on the 2024 season!
