December 2024
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The holiday season is upon us, and it’s the perfect time to reflect on the joys and blessings of the year while looking forward to the opportunities ahead. December is a month filled with excitement, giving, and learning here at East Elementary.
Spreading Joy This Holiday Season
As part of our tradition, we are thrilled to announce this year’s Canned Food Drive! This initiative is an excellent opportunity for students and families to make a difference in our community. Donations will be collected from December 2nd - December 20th and delivered to local food banks to support those in need. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Attendance Matters!
While we know the holiday season is busy, we want to remind everyone that attendance is still very important. Every day in the classroom counts, and students benefit greatly from consistent engagement with their teachers and peers. Please make every effort to have your child at school unless they are unwell.
Upcoming Benchmark Testing for 3rd and 4th Graders
As we close out the semester, our 3rd and 4th graders will be taking benchmark tests to assess their progress and prepare for the year ahead. Please make note of the following dates:
- Reading Benchmark: December 3rd
- Math Benchmark: December 10th
We encourage students to get a good night’s sleep and eat a nutritious breakfast to help them do their best on these important assessments.
