Graduation:
It’s almost time for graduation! Below are some details for the upcoming ceremony:
Graduation is on June 2nd, from 4:30-6:00 pm in the Viking Pavilion at Portland State University (PSU).
Seniors are expected to arrive at 3:30 pm.
Doors for the general public open at 3:45 pm.
Each graduating senior will receive 15 tickets. These will be handed out the week before graduation. Tickets are in the form of wristbands. All guests must be wearing a wristband to enter the building.
There is a graduation rehearsal on June 2nd at 10:00 am at the Viking Pavilion. All seniors are required to attend and should be there by 9:45 am.
Guests should park in PSU Parking Structure 3. Below is a map showing where structure 3 is in regards to the Viking Pavilion. Parking is $5.
Note the map below, which shows the graduate entrance, guest entrance, and ADA entrance, as well as the location of Parking Structure 3.

Summer School School registration opens Monday 5/12!
Counselors began registering students this Monday, May 12. If you are interested in registering your student for Summer School please fill out this form.
Please note that:
Summer School is currently for credit recovery only. Students may enroll in summer classes only if they have failed a course required for graduation.
Classes meet for 3 hours per day for 13 consecutive days.
Students will earn 0.5 credit for each class they successfully complete.
Classes will be offered at Benson, Franklin, McDaniel, and Roosevelt
There will be two sessions for students to take courses this Summer:
Session 1: June 23- July 10 (no class July 4)
Session 2: July 14- July 30

Library
Library Reminder for Seniors: Please return all library books and class novels to the library by May 31st. Students can log in to their library account using the Google option to see what items are checked out. Lost book fees can be paid in SchoolPay. If you have any questions please see Ms. Morlock in the library.

STUDENT GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS
The application process for Student Government elections for the 2025-2026 school year have begun. Students will have the chance to come to pick up an application in the main office or Ms. Abby’s room in c-11. Applications and campaign materials due by May 21st.

Culture and Climate
Every year BEAM creates space for the Black Community to celebrate the Black graduates in a Black Baccalaureate . Here is their flyer and a link to sign up. The Black Bacc.s is this Sunday : May 18th.
May 21 @ B-Floor, during Flex, come and join JHS Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration
Students with Asian American and/or Pacific Islander background and JHS Asian Language Classes collaborate and invite you all to celebrate AAPI month together. Celebration includes live music by pro musicians, dance, singing and instrumental performances by students + surprise guests. Don’t miss this!

Auditions for 2025–2026
It's that time of year again! Auditions for the 2025–2026 season are just around the corner. Whether dancers are a part of JD or JDIIs or are auditioning for the first time, everyone must participate in auditions each year to be considered for next year’s company.
Dates: June 3–4, 2025
Time: 4:00–6:45 PM
Location: Jefferson High School – Dungeon Dance Studio
Both days are required:
Day 1: Ballet, Tap, and African
Day 2: Hip Hop, Modern, and Jazz
If your dancer is planning to audition, please ensure they sign up!

We are currently accepting athletic participation registration for the following Spring Sports: Men’s Baseball, Women’s Softball, Men’s Track and Field, and Women’s Track and Field. Student-athletes must complete registration, have a valid physical on file, and be cleared by the Jefferson Athletic Office in order to participate in Spring Sports.

Out of Season Sports Workouts
Open Period : 4/14/25 - 5/26/25
Limited to a maximum of six hours each week per program, not per student (including open gyms).
Allows optional, fundamental skill development with an unlimited number of student-athletes. NO 8th graders or students from other schools may participate.
No competitions/games or tryouts permitted.
