A Message from the Principal
Dear Sand Lake Families,
I’d like to thank all of our families for the wonderful turnout we had during Parent Teacher Conferences. We had over 90% of our families attend a conference. Conferences are over, but please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher at any point during the year if you have additional questions.
I’d also like to thank everyone for their support of our Book Fair. Your support of the Book Fair allows us to purchase many items needed for our school, and it helps to bring in new reading material for all of our students.
Spring Break is days away, and I’m sure everyone is looking forward to taking some time off. For those of us staying home, hopefully the weather cooperates, and we are able to get out and enjoy some Fur Rondy activities.
Once we return from Spring Break, students in grades 3 thru 5 will begin AK STAR testing on March 24th thru April 4th. Please try to schedule appointments outside of your child’s testing window. If you are unsure of when testing will occur, please contact your child’s teacher.
Have a great Spring Break!
If you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns please feel free to contact us at
(907) 243-2161 or Sandlakeattendance@asdk12.org.
Sincerely,
Linson Thompson

CSS RAIS Welcome Center, San Roberto Avenue, Anchorage, AK, USA
As of March 3rd, 2025 I will no longer be lending out
winter gear for the remainder of the school year.
As long as we have snow, and cold temperatures,
please make sure your child(ren) is/are wearing
proper outdoor gear for the weather.
If your child has borrowed gear from the nurse’s office,
Please make sure it gets returned as soon as possible.
Have you ever considered what you and your children are eating and the nutritional value of that food?
Please consider refreshing what you may already know
and share facts with your family about nutrition.
Following facts is more important than following what is popular.
Quality over quantity.
