“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” Martin Luther King, Jr.
Dear HFRCS Families,
We are approaching the exciting time of the school year; the end. It is exciting because we will have many celebrations, recognitions, and the turning of the page for our 8th graders. Let’s make sure we all take the time to enjoy and appreciate these moments.
Our May Procession is next Thursday, 5/2/24. This is a big mass for our 8th graders as they wear their robes and lead our other classes into the church. We will have a small procession of our students coming out of Degnan Hall, up the outside steps behind the church, and then into the church before mass at approximately 9:10am with mass beginning at 9:30am. All are welcome to attend the mass and to take pictures of the procession beforehand. Father Otto will be the celebrant and we will be recognizing students and a teacher for best exhibiting the virtue of faith in honor of Mary.
Thursday, 5/2/24, is also an 11:30am dismissal. Please make sure you are prompt with picking up your children as the teachers have a meeting after school.
We also have to shout out our Student Council Presidents Hailey L. and Harper D. and other members of the Student Council for providing lunchtime music and trivia with prizes. They even had the Holy Family Falcon stop by several times to visit the students.
We have some important announcements and updates below, so please make sure you take the time to read everything. Just another reminder that students can work on their i-Ready My Paths at home. This is a great opportunity for them to receive some extra instruction that is catered to their “glows” & “grows.” I am always happy to meet with any families who would like to discuss their child’s progress with the program.
As always, thank you for your support and dedication to Holy Family and catholic education. Our school would not be what it is without you, our amazing families.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Mr. Elia

HSA
As we approach the end of the year, I have to recognize our HSA, Ms. Cacciatore (President), Ms. Waters (Vice President), and Ms. Peterson (Secretary) for all of their hard work and dedication to the school, students, teachers, and families. They help make our school a better place by organizing fun events, fundraisers, and volunteering so much time and effort. We greatly appreciate all you do!
Spirit Stroll
Our annual Spirit Stroll was this past Friday, 4/19/24. The students wore their Spirit Stroll shirts proudly as they walked around our community. Another big shoutout to Andrew Four in 3rd grade who did an amazing job with designing our shirts this year!. Thank you to all our families and friends who were so patient and understanding with the new logistics and joined us on the walk. Another big thank you to HSA, Ms. Wylie, and Ms. Sweet for organizing this fundraising event! And most importantly, thank you to all of you for your support and hard work that made the Spirit Stroll a huge success with fundraising!!
Fundraising Fee
Each school year, every family is asked to fundraise $200 over the course of the school year through the Jumbo Jackpot Spirit Stroll fundraisers.
If the $200 in fundraising threshold has not been met, families are charged a fundraising fee for the difference between $200 and the amount raised. This fee has been added to your FACTS account dated May 1, 2024, with a due date of 5/15/2024.
If you have any questions regarding the fee, please contact Kristy Cobb, Business Manager at kcobb@holyfamilyaston.org.

Reminders about Re-Enrollment:
Holy Family Regional Catholic School is now utilizing a "Continuous Enrollment" concept for students enrolled in our school. Continuous Enrollment assumes that once enrolled, a child will continue their education at Holy Family until graduation from eighth grade. Since most of our families remain year after year, this streamlines the enrollment process by reducing time and paperwork for parents and the school staff.
What do I need to do?
- Log Into your FACTS Family Portal - www.factsmgt.com
- From the menu on the left side of the screen, Choose Apply/Enroll, and then Enrollment/Reenrollment
- Complete the Enrollment packet for each student. All current information is pre-populated in this packet. Please review this information and make any necessary changes.
- If you will not be returning, there is an option to opt out here.
Payment Plan Information:
- The re-enrollment fee has been added to all tuition accounts for 2024-2025 on 2/15/24 and was automatically drawn on 2/29/24.

Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Tax Program
We were so lucky to have Kevin Kelly from the Foundation for Catholic Education present at our Back to School night about the EITC Program. This is an opportunity for individuals like you to send PA State Income Tax money directly to our school instead of Harrisburg. If you have the completed commitment form, please send it directly to Kevin Kelly (kkelly@foundationfce.org). The link for the form is below and a copy of the form is also attached to the dojo post.
COVID 19 Policy Update
At Holy Family, our number one priority will always be the safety of our students, staff, and families. After careful consideration and speaking with the archdiocese, we are moving forward with updating our COVID Policy. As of today, 3/15/24, our COVID policy is included with other respiratory illness procedures. They are as follows:
The person cannot return to Holy Family until he/she is fever free, without the use of fever-reducing medications, and their symptoms are improving overall.
Return dates and the enhanced precautions upon return would be determined and/or confirmed by our nurse.
