• Sadies Dance, LVA Gym & Quad, 6:00 to 9:00 pm
• No Tickets are sold at the door or on the day of the dance
• No later than 9:00 pm - Have rides wait in the Faculty Parking Lot [enter the lot through the gate at Lewis and 9th Streets]
• Gates to the parking lot will be locked by 10:00 pm, [Do not leave cars in the parking lot after the dance. You will not be able to retrieve the vehicle until Monday. ]

🎉 Most clubs meet from 10:30 to 11:00 on specific days but no longer announce on the morning announcements Students should check the Second Semester Club List below for times, locations, and advisors. If you have any questions about a particular club or organization, don't hesitate to reach out to the advisor. Have fun and get involved! 😊

Valentines Day! - Two clubs are holding Valentine's Fundraisers!

• SOL will be selling our Teddy Bears and Roses from February 5th until Valentine's Day in the cafeteria! You can buy a bear for $3 or roses for $2. We will also do deliveries on Valentine's Day so you can send one to a special someone. All money raised will go to help those affected by the LA Fires so show your support and love!
• Send your Crush or friends a Crush Gram for only three bucks. Get yours in the Cafeteria at lunch before they run out. STUCO will deliver next week! They're perfect for friends too!
• Key Club is hosting the LAST Nothing Bundt Cakes fundraiser on Thursday, February 13th. 5 dollars per cake. Just in time for Valentine's Day. Thank you for your support.

• The LVA Administration is asking that parents request student pick-ups prior to 1:45 pm.
• Parents must go to the Student Success Office to request a student be released.
• School employees are busy ensuring a safe dismissal of students after 1:45 pm and will not be able to assist in retrieving your student between 1:45 and dismissal.
• Please arrive around 1:30 to pick up students as the process of checking out students may take a few moments to complete.
• Or wait to pick up your child after the dismissal bell at 2:00 pm.

• PENTA will CLOSE the sidewalk on the north side of Clark from 7th St. to 9th St. for sidewalk demolition and reconstruction.
• Students will need to enter through the Main Building doors.
• Students will still be able to access the temporary parking lot but must use the sidewalk on the south side of Clark to walk between 7th and 9th Streets for easier access theater and conservatory classrooms
• The reconstruction will last approximately three weeks.
• Please add extra time when arriving at the school.

Course Selection 25-26

Counselors have met with all grade levels to discuss course selections. If a student was absent, they should visit the counseling office before school, during lunch, or after school to pick up the lilac course selection form.

The counseling office also has the following necessary forms:

• Pink – Course Petition
• Green – AP Contract
• Orange – Dual Enrollment Form
• Yellow – Open Period Request (Rising Seniors Only)
• Light Blue – Office Aide Form (Rising Juniors & Seniors Only)

As of February 3, counselors have begun one-on-one meetings during major classes to review and collect paperwork. Students must bring all required forms, completed and signed by a parent/guardian, on the day of their scheduled visit. All paperwork is due by Friday, March 14.

Course Selection Meetings

Parents, please be advised -- all counselors will meet with STUDENTS one-on-one in their major classes to review their course selections for the 25-26 school year. Unfortunately, it is not feasible at this time for counselors to also schedule individual meetings with families or parents/guardians. You are welcome to reach out to your student's assigned counselor with any brief questions, or you can ask your student to discuss all questions during their one-on-one meeting with their counselor. Thank you for understanding.

Dual Enrollment Math Courses Requirement

If your child has been recommended for or plans to take a Dual Enrollment Math class (120/124 or 126/127), they must take the ALEKS placement exam here on campus. A UNLV representative proctors the ALEKS.

• For placement in Math 120/124, students must score a 46 or above on the placement test.
• For placement in Math 126/127, students must score a 61 or above on the placement test.

Students may take the ALEKS placement test more than once to earn a qualifying score.

• The ALEKS placement test costs $15, which can be paid directly to the school banker. Students must pay before the scheduled test. The ALEKS placement test will be offered on the following dates:

🎹The LVA Philharmonic welcomed Arturo Rodríguez. 🎼 Born in Monterrey, México (1976), he is a Mozart Medal winner (1996) and Sundance Film Institute Composer Fellow (2010). 🎵 For 15 years, he has specialized in symphonic composition, creating commissioned works and orchestrating for film, TV, and multimedia.🎶

On Wednesday, February 5, LVA's Black Student Union hosted a fantastic lunch session with financial expert, Will Greenwood, who shared powerful insights on building good credit and creating long-term wealth. 💳💰
Will broke down key terms, explained how he got started in property investing, and engaged with students in an interactive Q&A! 🙌 Students were also gifted a copy of his book Credit is King! 📚
