ONE SCHOOL ONE BOOK
Monday, March 3 will be our final weekly drawing for the final chapters of A Boy Called Bat.
We hope you and your family have enjoyed the book. The library has the next three books in the series available for checkout, Bat and the Waiting Game, Bat and the End of Everything, and Bat and the Business of Ferrets.
Due to the snow days, the bookmark contest has been extended a week. Bookmarks will be due March 4 and winners will be announced on March 7.
Everyone who entered the weekly drawings will be put in for the final drawing on Friday, March 7 of our traveling stuffed skunk, Thor, and his little bat friend along with other great prizes.
Our culminating activity will be presentations by the Operation Wildlife organization.
Read Across America
Read Across America week is a great time to celebrate the benefits of reading such as increasing brain activity, reducing stress, and increasing vocabulary and comprehension.
We will celebrate the joy of reading during Read Across America week (March 3-7) with the following activities:
The Culminating Activities of One School One Book including final drawings and Operation Wildlife presentations.
Dr. Seuss-themed activities during Library checkout.
"Crack" into a good book with a snack of goldfish crackers delivered to classrooms.
Literary Potato Family Activity (Both paper and email copies of the directions were sent to families the last week of February.)
Mindsets Matter (At Home too!)
Hello Sunflower Families!
I am Mrs. Drinkert, the school counselor! Each month we will focus on one of the 7 Mindsets! March's Mindset is Everything is Possible! In class, your students are learning the four critical components of Everything is Possible. Each week we will focus on a different component. We are learning to dream big, embrace creativity, think positive, and act and adjust!
My challenge for you is to help your student(s) complete their Mindset of the Month Choice Board! This will give you the chance to help your student(s) grasp the concepts taught within Everything is Possible while spending quality time together! When you and your student(s) complete items on the choice board, scan the QR code and post a picture to our Mindset of the Month Padlet so we can share how others are living the Everything is Possible Mindset!
Kids Heart Challenge
Kids Heart Challenge is wrapping up soon, and we are so proud of all we have accomplished! Your enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment to learning about our hearts and brains have created an incredible community of heart heroes! ❤️
The challenge isn’t over yet! There’s still time to make a difference, please sign-up and join our school’s team of lifesavers. Donations are due 3/12/2025. Together, we can reach our goal and continue spreading awareness about the importance of heart and brain health.
