Back to School Events & Information
Summer is flying by and there are a lot of events scheduled as we gear up for the new school year that you won't want to miss!
Summer School Success
A big shout out to everyone involved in Summer Program 2024! Summer Program was filled with awesome learning experiences including one unit where each grade researched a different adventurous sport that people do in our area. Scuba divers from Hoodsport Diving and skydivers from Kapowsin Skydiving came to share what they do with students who had researched those sports! Students loved learning about what they do, seeing their gear, and reading them the research essays they had written.
Students also participated in an essay contest and 1 winner was selected from each grade level to be honored at the all-summer school celebration. The winner read an excerpt of their essay to grades 2 - 5 students. The winners’ families were invited, and the winners received extra points to spend at the summer school store!
6 students also won bikes donated by Mt. Moriah Lodge for excellent attendance! Thank you, Mt. Moriah Lodge for your generous donation!
New Industry Recognized Certification at SHS
Shelton High School's engineering teacher, Jake Fullington, recently completed his certification for their FANUC robot, allowing the program to provide another Industry Recognized Certification for our students. FANUC is a world leader in advanced manufacturing and Shelton High School is the first high school in the state of Washington to have this certification program. Way to go Mr. Fullington!
