Present and Thriving: The Power of Showing Up
When your child is in school, they’re not only learning academic skills but also building important life skills like responsibility and commitment. Each day is a new opportunity for them to connect with friends, learn something new, and feel a sense of belonging in our school community. By keeping track of attendance, we can identify any early patterns and provide support if needed, helping every child stay on a path to success. Your partnership in ensuring regular attendance truly makes a difference
Each week, we will share attendance with our community, broken down by site. Schools in green have achieved a 95 percent or better attendance rate for the week. The District goal is 97% attendance.
Come Work With Us!
On Wednesday, Nov. 20, the District will hold a job fair for a number of positions, both classified and certificated (or teaching). Please see the flyer below for details---bring any relevant documents and you can apply on the spot!
Dual Immersion Application Window Opens Soon
If you or someone you know is interested in a Dual Immersion program for your child(ren), the District will begin taking applications starting in December. The process for sibling priority application (in which a parent or guardian applies for the sibling of a Dual Immersion student to attend the same program at the same school) has ended.
If you are interested in the program, you will need to attend one parent/family information meeting. For the meeting schedule, and the application process, please visit this link: https://www.salinascityesd.org/department/dual-immersion
Winter Intersession: Learn About Being a Pilot
With the winter holidays fast approaching, we wanted to remind our families that over the Winter holiday break, the District will sponsor a full-day, free camp experience that will include science, engineering, visual and performing arts, academics and sports and games.
Winter intersession will take place from Dec. 16-20, and run from 8am-5pm. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided, and so is transportation from your home schools to the schools hosting the camps.
For more information on locations, and to register, please see the flyers below.
Stay Connected
Each week, the District produces a "District in a Minute" reel highlighting interesting things happening in our schools. These reels post (in English and Spanish) to Instagram on Saturday mornings; going forward, they will also be presented to you here as well. Here is last week's, featuring El Gabilan's Veterans Day celebration.
