Dewey Jog-Walk-Run-A-Thon
75 Dewey students have fundraised a whopping total of $9069 for this year’s Jog-a-thon! That beats last year’s mark of $8858. Outstanding job!! Mr. Deal will announce the following during the week of November 4th:
- When will the Jog-a-thon pictures, the Wall of Honor, and the Presidential Honor be posted on the PE bulletin board?
- What is the final Jog-a-thon monies amount?
- Who are the top 3 classrooms and the top 3 earners?
- Who are the pizza party winners (highest earning classroom and $350+ earners)?
- What will happen to Mr. Deal and Mrs. Parsley?
- How will the money be used to support Dewey?
All questions will be answered soon. Thanks again for your support!
We Need Your Input for Proposed Kindergarten Change
Dear families,
Thank you for your input regarding changes to our kindergarten program. We would like to keep this conversation going. There will be two opportunities for families to discuss and review the input that has been provided: The dates for those meetings will be this Thursday, November 7th at 8:45 a.m. and next Tuesday, November 12th at 5:00 p.m.
Below are the responses we've received from parents and staff. Our goal is to get family and staff aligned in our decision-making process.
Our student store is a hit but we need your help! Please let the office know if you are able to volunteer on Fridays to help run the store during student lunchtimes. Also, a donation of any of the prizes listed here would be greatly appreciated- thank you Dewey families!
Lost N Found
Our Lost N Found is filling up! Please come take a look through it when you get a chance. Any unclaimed items will be collected and donated on November 22nd.
The Harry Dewey School Library is a fantastic hub for knowledge and exploration! We are so excited to see our student actively using the online catalog to research topics they love. Have you checked it out together yet? Explore here: https://dewey.sanjuan.edu/academics/library

Dewey Maker Lab
It’s back! This year, half of the school will come weekly for the first half of the year, then the other half of the school will come weekly the 2nd half of the year. Don’t worry if your child doesn’t start next week- everyone will have equal opportunity to DESIGN, BUILD, and CREATE in the Maker Lab.
The Maker Lab runs on your donations. There is a box for all donations in the office hallway. All cardboard tubes, craft supplies, duct tape, etc. are appreciated. Don’t keep google eyes around your house, but you still want to give? There is an Amazon Wish List: Dewey Maker Lab Wish List
Right now, the Maker Lab is needing your Hex Bugs that are no longer being played with. Give the bugs a second life, give them to the Maker Lab.
