Testing for Paraprofessionals

Genesee Intermediate School District offers the ETS ParaPro Assessment for prospective and practicing paraprofessionals. The ParaPro Assessment measures the skills and knowledge in reading, writing and math possessed by prospective and practicing paraprofessionals. It also measures their ability to apply those skills and knowledge when assisting in classroom instruction. It was designed to satisfy the requirements of the federally legislated No Child Left Behind Act. Michigan requires a minimum score of 460 to qualify as highly effective.

The test consists of 90 selected-response questions delivered on computer, and you will have 2 ½ hours to take the test.

About two-thirds of the questions focus on basic skills and knowledge, and the remaining questions focus on applying those skills and knowledge in a classroom setting.

Unofficial scores will be provided at the end of your session, and your official results will be mailed in approximately 2-3 weeks.

The test costs $55.00. If you do not receive a passing score, you may retake the test after 21 days

The test will be offered once a month at the Davis Education Center on the following dates:

Cost: $55.00. Must be paid prior to taking the test.

Please note that in cases of inclement weather, the Davis Center may be closed. We encourage you to check ABC12 prior to traveling.

Please arrive via Door 1 at last 15 minutes prior to testing.

Bring:

• your required acceptable and valid identification
• one or two sharpened soft-lead (No. 2 or HB) pencils
• a good eraser
• a blue or black pen

Cell Phones and other electronic devices are not allowed in the testing room.
