Happy Sunday Pirates!
It was a wonderful week of school spirit and homecoming celebrations at Swansboro High School. Congratulations to our 2024 Homecoming Queen and King, Brooke Brady, and K’vontarious Smith. Everyone enjoyed the homecoming dance. Special thanks to Mrs. Burch and our SCA for all their efforts to make it a perfect night for all. Congratulations to our sophomore class who won the spirit week competition. They will be the proud owners of the spirit stick until the next spirit competition. Our student leaders, club advisors and coaches also organized a donation drive for families in Western North Carolina. We will continue to collect donations throughout the week.
Congratulations to our Marching Pirates for dominating the Northside competition on Saturday. They won first place in drum major, color guard, visual effect, and music. They won second place in percussion and ended the night as the grand champions. Athletic victories last week included volleyball wins over Havelock and White Oak. Women’s tennis defeated Dixon and White Oak while varsity soccer beat Croatan and JV soccer beat Richlands.
This week at Swansboro High School will include the beginning of the second grading period, the PSAT and AP banners on Tuesday, a ton of athletic events, an early release professional development day on Wednesday and the parade on Saturday.
This week in athletics will include golf at Falling Creek, volleyball hosting Dixon and tennis hosting West Carteret on Monday. Volleyball will travel to Richlands and soccer to West Carteret on Tuesday. Tennis will compete at the conference tournament while volleyball hosts West Carteret, JV football hosts Dixon, and soccer travels to Dixon on Thursday. Cross country will also host a home meet on Thursday. Varsity football will travel to Dixon on Friday.
