PSAT DAY

10th & 11th Grade Students will take the PSAT!
Testing will occur from 8:15am-11:53pm. 10th & 11th graders will attend 7th and 8th periods after the PSAT.
9th & 12th Grade Students will attend their regular classes and schedule (5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th Periods).
Schedule
- 8:15am - students report to class and testing administration begins (room assignments will be posted in the school)
- 8:15am-11:53pm - PSAT testing
- 11:53pm-1:59pm - 7th pd; students will attend their usual lunch assignments (A-lunch 11:58-12:28/B-lunch 1:29-1:59)
- 2:04-pm-3:35pm - 8th pd
Device Readiness
The PSAT/NMSQT is fully digital! All 10th and 11th graders will engage in the exam. Please review this section for details on what to bring and what to expect on test day.
Students will test on either school-managed devices or their own personal devices. Students are expected to bring their mLISD laptop or an approved personal device. Approved devices are detailed here. In short, personal devices can be Windows, Mac, or iPad. Personal Chromebooks are not allowed.
Students must have the BlueBook app installed and complete the Exam Setup prior to October 17th. If students have a personal device, please be sure the BlueBook app is downloaded prior to the Digital Readiness Check. Students will complete the Digital Readiness Check through English classes the week of October 7th. Students will use this resource to complete the Digital Readiness Check in class.
Why take the PSAT
- Receive feedback on skill strengths and weaknesses necessary for SAT preparation
- Prove college readiness for ACC Dual Credit
- Sophomore year PSAT is used to qualify for Rouse PSAT Team
- Junior year PSAT is the initial qualifier for the National Merit program for Semifinalists or Commended students, as well as several other scholarship programs
- Receive career information and guidance about paying for college through College Board's "BigFuture" feature
What to bring
- Government Issued or Student ID with photo
- Your fully charged device. You must have the app installed and exam setup complete before test day if you're testing with a personal device.
- A power cord and/or a portable charger. We cannot guarantee you’ll have access to an outlet during testing. Your device should be able to hold a charge for 3–4 hours.
- Scratch paper will be provided—do not bring your own.
- A pencil or pen.
- An approved calculator. There's a graphing calculator built into the app, but you can bring your own if you like.
- An external mouse if you use one.
- Water bottle
- Snack
