We hope this email finds you all well and looking forward to another weekend! We have had another wonderful week of teaching and learning here at DeMello. With new routines in place, we've launched readers' and writers' workshops as well as investigations in math. Our 3rd grade teachers rolled out the Fundations phonics program with their students and our piloting teachers started teaching the first of 2 literacy programs we are considering adopting. Be sure to ask your student about all they accomplished this week--they will have much to share!

Looking ahead, we will have our first early release day on Wednesday, 9/11. Dismissal will be at 12:55. Please send a note in with your child if there will be any changes to how they will be getting home. We are all excited for our Open House for grades 1-5 on Thursday! We will also have our Scholastic Book Fair on that day. Please read on for more information on the time of the book fair and open house as well as other important dates next week.

Again, we are thankful for the privilege of working with your amazing and brilliant students. We look forward to seeing everyone next week!

We will be holding Open House for families of students in grades 1-5 on Thursday, September 12th from 6:30-7:30. Our PTO will hold our annual "back to school" Scholastic Book Fair from 6:00-7:30 in the cafeteria. Families of kindergartners are also very cordially invited to the book fair!

A friendly reminder that families should drive all the way down the drop-off road each morning to let their students out. All students must exit from the passenger side. Thank you🙂

DeMello School needs your help! We are looking for 1-2 monitors for recess and lunch! If you know of anyone who enjoys working with children and would be available to work between 11:00 and 1:00 Monday-Friday, please encourage them to email me directly! Thank you in advance for your help with this!
