A Note From The OMS Administration
Happy Spring!
Congratulations to students who have been nominated for Oriole of the Month by demonstrating the Oriole Way of showing respect, resourcefulness and responsibility.
Over the last few months in Advisory, we reviewed the following Oriole Way expectations to ensure high levels of learning in our classrooms and behaviors that create a safe and inclusive school community. These include:
- Respectful behavior in the cafeteria including throwing trays and trash when finished eating and waiting to be dismissed before leaving the lunchroom
- Following adult directions for phone use including not having your phone out during learning time
- Being to class on time and being respectful to others in the hallway including listening to adults and showing safe behavior in the hallway
- Not making any comment, gesture, joke or behavior displayed in any manner that draws attention to racial, religious or cultural differences in a demeaning, disrespectful or offensive manner in person or through social media
- Using social media in a responsible way that does not disrupt the school environment and shows respect to peers and adults
Thank you for reinforcing these Oriole Way expectations at home as we finish our third and final trimester strong. As always, if you have questions regarding your child's attendance or grades, please reach out to the teacher or grade level administrator.
Social Media
Responsible Social Media Use
For kids, digital life and social media is real life. It's where they build friendships, take a stand on issues, and do so much more. Here are some family resources to support healthy media and technology use at school and home.
