Math with Mrs. Skiba

I have a class website where students and guardians can quickly access information. You will be able to see our class calendar, daily notes and links to newsletters. Additionally, I have created an Amazon Class Wish List. I have told students if they feel that anything should be added to our classroom to let me know and I will add it. I will be continually adding items throughout the year. Please do not feel obligated to make a purchase, but all donations are appreciated. Continual desired items include antibacterial wipes, kleenex, pencils and lined paper.

Please check PowerSchool weekly to stay up to date on your student's grades and missing work. PowerSchool will be your best resource to track your student's progress. Assignments are entered into Google Classroom but often times students forget to electronically mark they have been turned in so they will say they are late and/or missing when they have actually been turned in and graded. If you have any questions, please let me know.

This week we completed Chapter 1: Adding and Subtracting Integers. The Chapter 1 test was on Monday. This was worth 100 points. Students received their tests back on Tuesday and we spent time completing redos and reviewing questions they got incorrect. All students are able to correct their mistakes to earn back half of the points they missed. To complete this "redo" they must fill out the redo form, staple it to their original quiz and turn it back in by next Tuesday, October 11th. If you have any questions, please let me know.

We also took notes on Lessons 2.1 & 2.2: Multiplying and Dividing Integers. If your student would like additional resources for support I recommend the BIM website and Khan Academy. (Multiplying and Dividing Integers)

I am no longer accepting Chapter 1 assignments for a grade. All Chapter 1 assignments were due on Monday, October 3rd.

Next week we will continue Chapter 2 with Lesson 2.3: Converting Between Fractions and Decimals. We will have a quiz on Lessons 2.1-2.3 on Wednesday. I highly encourage students to complete the Practice Quiz and check their answers prior to the assessment.
