Last month we earned a school wide dance party celebration for our positive behaviors. Our students have a great understanding of the expectations in our hallways, gymnasium, and playground. They continue to work hard at being helpful, safe and kind.

Thank you to everyone who was able to come out and participate in our Literacy night, we enjoyed seeing each and everyone of you and hope you will join us at our next family event.

If you have been with us in the past, you will know that we typically have a Jingle Bell Parade in December. This year we will be having a parade in January to "Ring in the New Year," more information will be coming soon.

During the winter months, the parking lot becomes messy with snow and ice. Remember to be mindful of your surroundings, limit distractions (such as cell phones), and drive slowly. To ensure a safe and quick arrival process, please make sure your child has all their winter gear ready to go. If your child is not ready, please put on your flashers and pull forward.

During dismissal, please stay by the curb and do not approach the building or your child. This is for the safety of your child and our staff. Thank you!

As we work together to ensure a smooth and successful school year, we want to remind families of the importance of being ready for the bus on time each morning.

To keep our transportation schedule running smoothly and ensure all children arrive at school safely and on time, it is essential that your child is fully dressed and prepared to board the bus five minutes before the scheduled pickup time.

Greetings from the school health office! We have entered into the season of viral illnesses. While attendance is important, it is also important to keep children home when they are not feeling well. Per district sick day guidelines, the children should stay home and remain home until they have been fever, diarrhea, and/or vomiting free for a full 24 hours without the use of medications. Also, please keep children with a new cough home until it greatly improves. These practices keep our staff and teachers well for our students. Thank you in advance for your partnership.

Community Unit School District 300 Parents as Teachers Birth -3 Program offers FREE Developmental Screenings to any child age 2 months through 34 months. A developmental screening offers you a quick check into your child’s development in the areas of communication, social skills, motor skills, and problem-solving skills. It can help you understand your child’s development and know what to look for next. If you are interested in exploring your child’s development with a certified Parent Educator from the D300 Birth-3 Program please contact Sonja Russell at 224-484-2331 or sonja.russell@d300.org .
