Dear JWE Families,

Hello! I hope you and yours are having a wonderful weekend. As a reminder we only have two days of school this week. Students and staff are off this coming Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday! Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate!

Due to shorter week this week, you will not receive a newsletter from me next Sunday. Our next edition of the Jaguar News Journal will come out on Sunday, December 8th. This week's edition covers info and calendar items that cover us until then.

The week we return from the Thanksgiving break is of course the week of December 2nd - 6th. Tuesday, December 3rd marks the mid-way point of the current marking period. It's a great time to use the PowerSchool Parent Portal to check on your child's progress. As always, please reach out to your child's teacher if you have questions about how they are progressing in the classroom.

Wednesday, December 4th is our monthly Wellness Wednesday! We had our Fun Run in lieu of this for the month of November so this will be our first official Wellness Wednesday of this school year. with each student in K-5 doing a walk around our playground track as we start the day. As students get off the bus or out of their vehicles in the morning they will be directed to the playground track and everyone will walk a lap before entering the building. Parents are welcome to join their students for the quick walk if you choose!

Once again, as reminder - we're getting closer the winter season and all the illness that seems to come along with it. We ask that you encourage good handwashing, and hygene (covering coughs and sneezes in the elbow, etc.) with your student(s) as these good habits can go a long way in preventing the spread of illness. Please also keep your student home if they have a fever or any significant gastrointenstonal issues. Thanks for your help in keeping us all as healthy as possible during this cold & flu season!

Please be reminded that our Spirit Wear sale for students and families ends this Tuesday, November 26th. As you place orders, please note that checks need to be made out to our vendor - Valley Sports Connection. If you prefer to place a credit card order, you can do so by calling them directly. Their number is on the order form. I've shared an image of it further down in this newsletter for your reference. You can of course send cash for your order as well but please send exact change if you do so.
