Red Hawks Rising: Welcome Event for the Class of 2029
Attention current 8th-grade students and families! Join us for a special evening as we welcome you to Cedar Springs High School and help you prepare for your exciting journey as part of the Class of 2029.
Date: Tuesday, January 28
Time: 6-7 p.m.
Location: Cedar Springs High School Auditorium
Bonus: Stay after to enjoy the basketball game!
The event begins at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. We encourage everyone to arrive early to explore the club and extracurricular tables that will be available.

End of Semester Reminders: Grade Access & Report Cards
The first semester ends on January 17. Grades will be finalized by the afternoon of January 25 and will be accessible to parents/guardians afterward. If you need a printed report card mailed home, please email jodie.amell@csredhawks.org.
Lost and Found
Has your student misplaced a jacket, lunch box, water bottle, or other items? Please have them check the Lost and Found in the cafeteria! Any unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the semester on January 17.
Second Semester Encore Change Request
If your student has an Encore scheduling change request, you must submit the request through our Middle School Encore Change Request form. We do our best to accommodate requests, but due to the number of course selections available, we may only be able to accommodate some requests. Requests must be made by Wednesday, January 22, schedule changes are finalized on Friday, January 24.
Appropriate Reasons for Making a Schedule Change Request: Incomplete schedule, duplicate classes, or teacher recommendation (i.e., transition into advanced class)
Inappropriate Reasons for Making a Schedule Change Request: Requesting to be with friends, Teacher/House preference
Student Focus (6th grade) and Future Focus (7th grade) are required courses and cannot be dropped. These courses will prepare students for their future education and careers while meeting the state of Michigan's education requirements. Students will learn digital citizenship, financial literacy, and employability skills.
Any email or call to the office requesting encore scheduling changes will be directed to the online form.
No Middle School Athletic Events This Week.
Wrestling & Girls Basketball Team Pictures – January 14
Team pictures for Wrestling and Girls Basketball will be taken on Tuesday, January 14. Order forms should have been sent home with athletes this week.
