College App Week
As part of the TN Path to College Events, College Application and Exploration Week was September 16-20. RCHS participated in this statewide event with the goal to build excitement for all students around the college application process and to provide every Class of 2025 senior the opportunity to apply to college.
Seniors were allowed to come to the library and get help applying to college or technical school. The following admissions counselors were here to assist our students with applications: TN Wesleyan, UTK, Chattanooga State, Bryan College, Lee University, Maryville College, South College, UTC, ETSU, and TN Tech. 150 seniors participated in this opportunity and over 400 college applications were submitted.
📓📘🧪Classroom Fun🧪📘📓
Biology 1
This week in biology, we learned how putting cells into different solutions (hypo-, hyper-, and isotonic) would affect the movement of matter through the cell membrane. To see this in action, students in Mrs. Pelfrey's class modeled osmosis (the movement of water through a membrane) using raw, de-shelled eggs, distilled vinegar, water, and karo syrup.
