Holiday Message from Mrs. Ortiz-Montoya, Principal
In the spirit of this holiday season, I want to extend my thanks to all of you for everything that you do for our school. As we enjoy the upcoming holidays, it is my wish that each of you receives in return the seasonal bounty of blessings and good tidings that make this holiday truly special.
Thank you for entrusting us with your most precious gift, we are so grateful for our students to be a part of the Gridley family. In the spirit of this holiday season. We hope that your family receives the blessings and good tidings that make these days truly special. We see the joy when your children express their holiday tradition and recognize the true meaning of Christmas.
It is also during this time that I am reminded of my own good fortune to serve as the proud Principal of Gridley Middle School. Indeed, my career as a public school educator has offered me a richly rewarding opportunity to teach and to learn from young people.
I believe the faces of our children best express the true meaning of this holiday season. They radiate a sense of unbridled enthusiasm, untainted hope and unabashed joy for life and the opportunities that await them. To the parents and friends of Gridley Middle School's community, please have a safe and joyous holiday season.
Respectfully,
Rosanna Ortiz-Montoya
Principal

Tardy Policy for Students
We are going to follow the Student Code of Conduct for tardies….
Starting Monday, November 4th, we will begin applying the Student Code of Conduct (SCOC) to all tardies.
Tardy #1: If a student is tardy, the teacher will have a teacher-student conference and call home and email the parent.
Tardy #2: Give the student 1 day of lunch detention and call and email the parent.
Tardy #3: Email to Ms. Montoya, Ms. Pischansky, and Ms. Tenace to report the third tardy. The student will be assigned one day of in School Intervention (SI). Ms. Tenace will call home to inform the parent.
Tardy #4: Email to Ms. Montoya, Ms. Pischansky, and Ms. Tenace to report the fourth tardy. A parent conference will be held by administration and the student will be assigned two days of in School intervention (SI).
Tardy #5: Email to Ms. Montoya, Ms. Pischansky, and Ms. Tenace to report the fifth tardy. The student will be assigned three days of in School Intervention (SI). Administration will call home to inform the parents. The next tardy will be elevated to level 2, which will be Out of School Suspension (OSS).
Along with the tardy policy, we are now using a scanning device to record all tardies. Therefore, students are required to bring their School IDs with them each and every day. All tardies are unexcused unless the parent calls in to excuse them. If a student does not have an ID, please have them see the office to get one.
