Dear Mustang Families,
Thank you to all our guest readers that made Read Across America Week amazing! Our kiddos loved hearing a variety of readers!
Thank you to Ms. Partaker and her team who worked to make the book exchange a reality for our students! All of our students were able to get at least 2 "new to them" books to read!
Thank you!!!!!

Lew Roth Awards Nominations
Nominations due by Monday, March 24th!
The Simi Valley Education Foundation is now accepting nominations for their Lew Roth Award. Each year, the Board of Directors of the Simi Valley Education Foundation honors the memory of Lew Roth, the founder of the Simi Valley Education Foundation. In his honor, the community, students, parents, certificated and classified staff, are asked to nominate worthy individuals for one of the six Lew Roth Awards listed below. Candidates must work or volunteer within the Simi Valley Unified School District.
Many dedicated individuals make a real difference in our schools and in the opportunities for children. It may be obvious dedication to the schools and students, or it may be quiet, but positive influence on students who need extra support or attention. We want to honor and recognize these special persons for their extraordinary service to the students of the Simi Valley Unified School District.
The six categories are:
Management (Principals, Assistant Principals, Counselors, School Psychologists, District Administrators, etc.)
Certificated (Teachers, Nurses, Speech Therapists, etc.)
Classified (Accounting, Clerical/Secretarial, Custodial/Maintenance, Food Service, Instructional Aides, Playground Supervisors, Purchasing/Warehouse, Transportation, etc.)
Volunteer (Individual Volunteer or Volunteer Members of School or Community Organizations)
Special Education (Teachers or aides that work with special education students)
Lifetime Achievement Award (Individuals who are retiring or have an outstanding achievement).
The nomination form is online at www.svef.org and must be submitted by Monday March 24, 2024

Madera Handbook
What do I do if my child is absent? Does my child have to stay home if he/she has a fever? Can I bring birthday treats? What time does school start? When is recess? Are crocs allowed in sport mode?
For answers to these questions and more, please review the following Madera Handbook information for important information about attendance, procedures, policies, school safety, and discipline. Please click the button below to access the handbook.
Always bring your ID when coming to school! Visitor Sign in required!
Madera and District Early Dismissal Day-Please mark your Calendars!
Inclement Weather
Please help your child be mindful of the weather conditions each day and be prepared with weather appropriate clothing. As we move into the "winter" season, the weather is unpredictable. Students will continue to go outside to play at recess time. Please be sure that your child's clothing is also labeled with his/her name. Even in the cold weather, students who go outside to play and run around will leave jackets and sweatshirts on the playground as they heat up from activity. We want to try to get lost items of clothing back to rightful owners!
On inclement weather days, students are usually asked to go to the MPR for the morning until the bell rings and the teacher picks them up for class.
