A Message from the Principal
North Families,
I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween holiday. During our half day Professional Learning session yesterday, North teachers collaborated with South teachers in departments to discuss best practices for teaching and learning. Making connections and building relationships across the district will only serve to strengthen the already amazing things that are happening at Grosse Pointe North High School.
As a reminder, there is no school for students on Tuesday, November 5th for Election Day.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Dr. Sara Delgado

AP Honor Roll
Congratulations to Grosse Pointe North for earning Silver Recognation on the AP Honor Roll. The Honor Roll considers three criteria for this award: College Culture, College Credit, and College Optimization. College Culture is earned by providing students with the opportunity to take 1 AP course before graduation. College Credit assists with college affordability by allowing students to earn college credit through obtaining at least a 3 on the AP exam for their content area. College Optimization is earned by creating opportunities for students to take a total of at least 5 AP courses throughout high school. Grosse Pointe North continues to provide these experiences for our students, earning Silver status across the three areas. Congratulations Norsemen!
Student Success and Accountability Program
As part of our ongoing commitment to the health and well-being of our students, we are pleased to announce an exciting new initiative: a Student Success and Accountability Program at Grosse Pointe South and Grosse Pointe North High Schools. This program is the result of a partnership between our school, the Family Center of Grosse Pointe & Harper Woods, and Face Addiction Now (FAN), an organization dedicated to raising awareness about substance use and addiction.
Our goal is to proactively educate and empower students to make informed, healthy decisions about substance use. We understand that conversations about substance use can be difficult, but they are essential. This program is designed not only to prevent substance use but also to create a supportive environment where students feel empowered to make healthy choices and reach out for help if needed.
The program will include:
- Educational Workshops: FAN will provide the evidence-based, age-appropriate educational sessions that provide students with the latest information on the risks of substance use, including alcohol, vaping, and other drugs.
- Resources for Families: The Family Center will offer ongoing support, including access to educational materials, community services, and family counseling resources if needed.
The sessions will take place on Nov. 11, 25, and Dec. 16 at 7:45 in B103 at North. Snacks will be provided! Please see the flyer below for additional information.

Counseling Corner
Happy November 1st! Today is the last day of the first quarter. It is also the day that many of our seniors can enjoy completing their college applications as we wait for decisions to come back. Enjoy this weekend and take some much needed rest as we get ready to start a new quarter. As we think about the second quarter, we try to help students see this as a fresh start. What went well during the first quarter that we can continue doing? Where are there areas for improvement? Help your student set some grade goals so they can keep their sight set on being successful. This is a long span of time from the start of the school year to our first break at the end of Thanksgiving. We want to help students hang in there and stay focused! Counselors are here to help so please reach out to your student’s counselor with any questions or concerns.
Upcoming College Visits:
Thursday November 7 - Lourdes University
Tuesday November 19 - University of Arizona
Tuesday November 21 - Xavier University
Monday November 25 - United States Naval Academy

Sinking Fund Updates
Important Reminder: Election Day is November 5th!
On the ballot, you will find a proposal for a sinking fund millage for the Grosse Pointe Public School System. The revenue generated from this millage is dedicated to maintaining and enhancing our facilities, improving safety and security measures, supporting technology upgrades, and acquiring transportation vehicles.
The sinking fund has historically enabled Grosse Pointe Public Schools to proactively address improvements and repair issues before they escalate into costly problems. This approach supports our efforts to keep our schools in excellent condition in order to provide a safe and conducive learning environment.
