Some thoughts for the starting school year
Welcome
Shevaun Etier, Executive Director
Dear School Community,
As we stand on the brink of another exciting school year, I am thrilled to welcome each of you back to Town & Country School. I hope your summer was restful and rejuvenating, filled with moments of joy and relaxation.
This year, we embrace a renewed sense of purpose and enthusiasm. Our dedicated team has been working diligently to prepare for what promises to be an extraordinary year. We have thoughtfully crafted our curriculum, enhanced our facilities, and implemented new initiatives designed to support the diverse needs of our students and community.
Highlights for the New School Year:
- Innovative Programs: We are excited to introduce our new Success Program for some of our high school students. This program aims to provide additional support and enriching educational experiences for those who need it most. Additionally, we have added a full-time reading specialist and a second part-time Title I reading tutor to further support our students' literacy needs. We also warmly welcome Mrs. Rosalee Stich, our first School Nurse.
- Enhanced Facilities: Our new classroom, counselor’s office, nurse’s office, and visiting professional’s office will create a more dynamic and supportive learning environment for everyone.
- Focus on Well-being: We remain committed to prioritizing the social-emotional well-being of our students. This year, we are collaborating with Together Just Therapy Services to offer social skills programs, ensuring that every member of our student community feels supported and valued.
- Community Involvement: A strong partnership between school and home is vital for student success. We encourage you to engage with us through school events, parent-teacher meetings, and volunteer opportunities as we work together to support our students’ growth and achievement.
As we embark on this new journey, let us embrace the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead with optimism and a shared commitment to excellence. Our collective efforts will ensure that this year is filled with learning, growth, and memorable experiences for all. Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to our school community. Together, we can make this year truly exceptional.

What an exciting time of the year for our 35 new students at Town & Country School! This year our staff has the opportunity to encourage new meaningful friendships, build students’ self-esteem, and help them experience success in their academics. We have 23 new elementary students, 8 new middle school students and 4 new high school students and their families. Please take the time to welcome our new families to our Town & Country Community.

What a wonderful year we had in 2023-2024. So many great things happened last year, and I know that this school year is going to be even better. I would like to welcome all the new families to Town and Country School. I look forward to working with your children this year and providing the best possible experiences for them. We are blessed with growth this year not only in student numbers but also with new staff and new programs that are available to our students. I know that the 2024-2025 school year is going to be great.
Devin Cross, High School Administrator
Another successful year has come and gone. We are excited to welcome all the new faces this year. What a terrific start to the new year! The transition from summertime to classroom time has been a smooth one. I have had a chance to not only visit the classrooms, but also the lunchroom on several occasions and love to see the budding friendships, engaged learners, and students NOT glued to their electronic devices. Our students continue to make me proud as they excel in all avenues at Town & Country.
I am very excited to see what the 2024-2025 year holds for all our staff and students.
Shout-out
46 Years at Town & Country School, Karen Grant, Assistant Teacher - Outback Classroom
I attended Town & Country School from grades 2-8. Dr. Lillian Whitmore wanted to establish a school to meet the needs of students who have been diagnosed with learning differences and to provide a learning environment that helps students feel welcomed and successful. That is exactly what Town & Country does. Town & Country provided me with the education and reading comprehension skills that I needed to succeed. My time as a Town & Country student came full circle when I began a career as staff member where I have remained for the last 46 years. Town & Country is a special place that is so important to me. I have enjoyed every moment in these 46 years working and getting to know other staff members and helping to make a positive impact on our students.
