AP HONOR ROLL
Mounds View High School has been named to the 2024 AP School Honor Roll as a Gold member. The class of 2024 had 66% of seniors who took at least one AP exam during high school, 56% of seniors scoring a three or higher on at least one AP exam, and 30% of seniors who took five or more AP exams!

Congratulations to the Viewer staff for big wins at the Minnesota High School Press Association’s annual fall convention!
Both the Viewer newspaper and website won Best in Show awards, and the newspaper took the All State Silver Award. Sinim Dhuguma, Vincent Meyer, and Via Yang brought home Gold Medallion Awards!
MAKE UP OR RETAKE PICTURE DAY - THURSDAY (10/3)
Make up/retake picture day is Thursday (10/3) over lunches.
- Make up students will stop at the check-in table and pick up their photo card
- Retake students will give the photographer their name and grade

BOWLING TEAM: The Bowling Team continues to dominate! Varsity and JV both won all of their games Friday with Varsity averaging 184 over all their games and JV averaging a quite amazing 178 themselves. Varsity won their matches by an average of 320 pins and JV by 470 - yowza! The Emerging team won 4/5 of their games by 154 pins! Way to go Mustangs! Come cheer on the Bowling Team at The Mermaid on Friday (10/4) at 3:30 PM. Go Mustangs!!
ROBOTICS: Team meets on Thursday (10/3) from 7:00-8:30 PM.

If you plan to attend a contest on campus this fall, winter or spring, be prepared and purchase your ticket (or pass for year) before you arrive. There are NO CASH SALES this year. AP EXAM REGISTRATION - DEADLINE
AP exams are in May. Registration is a 2-step process and closes on Friday (10/4):
- Parents login to the SmartSchoolK12 pay system and pay for exams.
- Students enroll and join their AP class in their College Board MyAP account.
Registration is NOT complete and AP exams cannot be ordered unless both steps 1 and 2 are completed. If students have not done this in class and need a “join code”, email aptesting@mvpschools.org. Students in AP classes that start Monday (1/27) (2nd semester only AP classes) will register and pay for their 2nd semester only exams in January or February.

GRADE 10 - PRE-ACT TEST - TUESDAY (10/22)
PreACT testing is important for all students, as it focuses attention on both career preparation and improving academic achievement. The PreACT test will point out students’ academic strengths and areas that need improvement. It can help those students who are college-bound, as well as those who plan to enter the workforce directly after high school. NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH WEEK
We will celebrate the week of October 7-16! A few highlights include:
- The Minnesota Great Apple Crunch will be held on October 7. A local Gala apple from Rabideaux Farms will be offered at lunch.
- Students can show off their photography skills by entering the School Lunch Photo Contest. Submissions are accepted October 7-16.
- Locally-made Sambusas will be a featured entree choice on October 16. Students will be able to choose from a beef or a lentil Sambusa. Click here to view the online lunch menu.
Sambusas are a traditional Somali staple. Hoyo, the producer of these Sambusas, describes them as "delicious fried pastries certain to transport students and staff to a whole new world of taste". Each Sambusa is hand-made in Bloomington.
