Crafternoon: Paper Flowers
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3 @ 3:30 - 5 PM - Ages 5+ Drop-in. Learn some different ways to make beautiful flowers using paper.
Learn Tatting (Lacemaking) with Chris!
FRIDAYS, APRIL 5 & 19 @ 1 - 3 PM - Adults and teens ages 13+ are invited to join local expert Chris for a FREE two-class series on tatting, a technique for handcrafting lace. Folks are encouraged to come to both classes to build up their skills, but doing so is not required. No experience and no materials needed. Just bring your lovely self (and maybe a friend or two)! Registration required.
Eclipse Watch Party
MONDAY, APRIL 8 @ 1:30 - 3 PM - Families and all ages welcome. Join us to view this spectacular event! We will have eclipse glasses on hand for the viewing while supplies last. We’ll have fun activities while we wait. Bring a blanket, a picnic and enjoy a lovely day outside by the gazebo! Stay tuned for more information. No registration required.
Common Threads
THURSDAY, APRIL 11 @ 6 PM & FRIDAY, APRIL 26 @ 1:30 PM - Common Threads is back! Come practice your new crochet skills or bring another fiber arts project (knitting, cross-stitch, etc.) to work on while chatting with other crafty enthusiasts. Always welcoming new people. No registration required.
The Rhode Island Older and Wiser Driver
TUESDAY, APRIL 16 @ 6 PM -A safe driving presentation for mature drivers, delivered by AAA Northeast with support from the RI Department of Transportation Office on Highway Safety. This presentation will cover all aspects of driving for seniors, including the major causes of crashes for older drivers, pedestrian & bicycle safety tips, advice for extending safe driving years, and how to plan driving cessation (and resources for staying mobile!). Registration required.
Homemade Seed Paper
MONDAY, APRIL 22 @ 4PM - Grades 3+. Come for this fun Earth Day craft and learn how to make some very special paper from recycled materials and seeds.

After Preschool Storytime - Tuesday, April 9 at 3:30 PM
Ages 3 ½ - 5. Does your kiddo love story time, but has preschool in the morning? Stop by for an afternoon story hour with books, songs, dancing, and a craft. Registration Required.
Lego Club - Thursday, April 11 at 3:30 - 5 PM
Drop-in. Ages 4+. Use your imagination to make some Lego creations!
Homeschool Hangout - Friday, April 12 at 1 - 2:30 PM
All grades welcome. Play games, have snacks, and meet up with homeschoolers in the community.
Saturday STEM - Saturday, April 13 at 11 AM – 12:30 PM
Ages 5+. Stop by for some science and engineering fun.
Anime on Monday - Monday, April 15 at 4 PM
Grades 6+. Calling all anime fans! Come have some popcorn and watch some popular anime. Rated TV-14.
Paper Mâché Baskets - Tuesday, April 16 11:30 AM - 1 PM
Drop-in. Ages 5+ (children under 8 might need adult’s assistance). Learn how to make a basic paper mâché project.
Vacation Family BINGO Before Lunch - Wednesday, April 17 at 11 AM
Join us for some fun rounds of BINGO and maybe win a yummy prize.
Colored Poetry Books - Thursday, April 18 at 11:30 AM
Grades 2+. Celebrate National Poetry Month. We will read some poems together and then create your own unique book of poetry to take home. Registration required.
Read with Teddy - Friday, April 19 at 10:30 AM
All ages welcome. Our furry library friend and therapy dog Teddy will be back during April vacation; come listen to a story and read him a book. Sign up for a time slot to read to Teddy.
Graphic Novel and Manga Club - Wednesday, April 24 at 3:30 PM
Grades 6+. Do you love Manga and Graphic Novels? Join our club for monthly activities, snacks, and to read some new books. Registration Required.

Tech Help with Leah - Tuesdays in April at 2 PM – 4 PM
Get your tech and social media questions answered by Leah, our Reference Librarian! One-on-one sessions will last 30 minutes and can cover a range of basic topics. Please call the library or contact leah@scituatelibrary.org to schedule your appointment.
Cookbook Club - Monday, April 22 at 6 PM
Try out recipes from Essentials of Classic Italian Cooking by Marcella Hazan or Giuseppe’s Italian Bakes by Giuseppe Dell’Anno. Make a dish at home, then bring it to the library to share with others potluck-style! Beginner cooks welcome. Registration required. Let us know before the meeting which recipe you’ve chosen, so we can avoid making the same things. Books will be available for checkout at the front desk.
Beginner’s Tech Class: Microsoft Excel Basics - Monday, April 29 at 3 PM
Let’s learn the basics step-by-step together in a safe and welcoming environment! Reference Librarian Leah will lead a class for complete beginners and those wanting to dust off their skills. Basic ability to use a mouse and keyboard advised, but no other tech skills required. Please register.
Classics Book Club - Tuesday, April 30 at 6 PM
Book TBA. Join our passionate group of book lovers for an engaging discussion. No registration required; books will be available for checkout at the front desk.

Become a Library Trustee
We are seeking engaged, committed Board Trustees who are dedicated to the Library, and the community at large. We are recruiting new members who have the time, energy, and diverse skills and abilities to assist with board activities, including fundraising, library program support and review, and policy development. Previous experience in volunteering, finance, public relations or legal matters is a plus but not required.
